Ranger's Apprentice: Ruins of Gorland Fanmade Trailer

I had to make a trailer for school as a project, so, here it is. I obviously don't really have the necessary materials to make a real trailer, but either way, hopefully this is okay.

Information About The Author:

John Flanagan grew up in Sydney, Australia dreaming of becoming a writer. However, it wasn't until he had written a poem about an executive at his job that his talent was truly noticed.

He wrote advertising copies for around two years before teaming up with a friend to create a show known as "Hey Dad!" which remained on air for a good eight years.

The Ranger's Apprentice series had originally been a series for his son, who was twelve years of age at the time, to motivate him to read as well as gain joy from it. He had never imagined how popular it would become over time, both to his son and his many dedicated readers.


Information About The Genre:

The Ranger's Apprentice is a fantasy series that includes those of the "Dark Arts" and mysterious and grotesque beasts from mountains long abandoned. It centers around medieval times, bringing about mystery and beliefs of magic.


Explanation of Why You Chose This Book:

I chose this book because it seemed interesting, both from the cover and the summary of it on the back. I prefer non-fiction books, especially ones that have the genre of fantasy, and decided to test my luck. In the end, I bought the entire series from Barnes & Noble within a week!


Your Review and Reccomendation:

If you like a lot of action - not too much of it is seen within the first book, however - mystical creatures, and rooting for the underdog, than this book is just for you! And although Will - later being named "Will Treaty" - has no parents, the bond he forms between Halt, Gilan, Horace, and the others gives a sense of one and rarely leaves you questioning about his parents. Although his past is what we all wish to find out, it's actually rather plain, and I do believe that plain characters can relate to normal human beings like us. Therefore, if you enjoy characters that aren't very well off from the start and tend to remain who they are throughout the series, it's definitely a book to pick up and read!
