They didn't "recreate his face with cgi." They weren't even close to being able to do that convincingly in 1999, when the movie was filmed. They clipped his image out of outtakes and re-inserted them into later footage. They also used stand-ins for scenes where you didn't have to see his face. You'll notice his character gets kind of quiet and doesn't commit a lot of physical actions in his later scenes, so it's pretty easy to pick out the parts they had to manipulate.

Unfortunately i have drank similar amounts of alcohol back when alcohol was my excuse to socialize. I used to drink entire handles of earlytimes whiskey. Now I'm completely sober but the damage is done. Not sure how much time I have left...which is ironic because that's usually an excuse to drink. But I've had multiple life times worth of alcohol and im tired.
