HUGE Dusky Shark from the Beach! Overnight PINS Shark Fishing Trip

In this video my dad, brother, and I went on our annual shark fishing trip. We travel down to Padre Island National Seashore and shark fished for 24 hours on the beach. We bring food, water, drinks, and some personal fishing tackle to hang out and hopefully land some big sharks. We go with our guide, Eric Ozolins, and he is a shark expert. We always enjoy spending time with Eric and he puts us on some big sharks. With some cold water upwellings on the beach, a lot of the usual warm water sharks such as hammerheads, bull sharks, and tigers weren't in the surf. However, the cold water upwellings bring in the elusive Dusky Shark. I had never heard of or seen a Dusky Shark until me AND Jonathan reeled one in. These sharks often travel in schools when they are near the beach because they are trying to mate. The schooling habits is why we hooked up to two big ones at the same time. My Dusky Shark was a little over 10ft long and Jonathan's was about 8ft long. They are cool sharks and Eric said they are extremely rare. He said that will probably be the only Dusky shark I might catch in my life which is pretty crazy. We caught some other small blacktip sharks, sharpnose sharks, and spinner sharks, but there were no other big sharks that hit the rods. We also caught some whiting, skipjack, and hardheads on our own personal tackle to add to our fish tally. Spending time on the beach eating cold fried chicken and waiting for a big shark to bite is a lot of fun. I'm excited to hopefully go again next year and catch some more big sharks.
