Can you assign super key to launch it?
How did you get the panel @bottom?
Thanks for the video!
Very cool stuff. I was just going to give my parents a little tour of Linux this weekend (I even have Zorin on a flashdrive just in case they want their old windows-like environment) and this definitely will help me come up with some other ideas if my mom decides she doesn't like an OS so flat looking that it looks like it came out of a Star Trek episode. Big thanks, Rob!
ОтветитьI'm a KDE user but I just wanna say that this would make GNOME 3 usable ;)
ОтветитьPersonally, I don't use launch menus but this seem like a good one.
Side note: I forgot about that wallpaper. It makes me think I need to get back to basics and make more non-logo'd, colorful walls. :)
I wonder how long will it take for gnome to go from gnome2/mate layout to win7/kde layout on many workstations.
ОтветитьMainly use Gnome the way the devs meant it to be used however I do get the itch for a menu driven UI occasionally. I will try this out!
ОтветитьDefinitely agree this extension will help Win7 converts ease into this DE. This extension could gain traction as we get closer to Gnome becoming the default Ubuntu desktop (in 17.10 and beyond).
ОтветитьMan I have to say you have a very refined taste for customization, love all of your videos! Whoever said gnome is not that customizable is because never gave him/herself the time to really dig into gnome community (extensions, gnome-look)
ОтветитьWhats the icon theme you're using Rob??
ОтветитьWhy nobody reviews Endless OS?
Please review Endless OS. I believe i asked you couple months ago...
Yes it's not for everyone, but it's very interesting for family people..
That looks almost like the cinnstark menu in Cinnamon. Definitely, gives the feel of a traditional menu that a lot of people will like.
Great short concise video
I tried Arc Menu out a bit (admittedly only for a few minutes), but I honestly think I prefer the regular Applications Menu so far. The biggest reason comes down to browsing through applications: With the Arc Menu, after clicking a category, I have to click Back before looking in another. With the Applications Menu, I can simply hover over each category to switch between them. That being said, it's not like I usually browse through applications, anyway, so this is a small issue overall.
I think I've come to like the Gnome way of doing things, though: opening the activities overview and just typing the name of the application. Must faster for me than going through a menu.
Aside from that, though, it does seem convenient having applications, places, and leave options all within the one menu.
I really do like the launcher. The panel reminds me of cinnamon. I wonder can you resize the menu like in XFCE? Also can you switch off the dash? If so I might consider moving over to gnome even with the chatter of bugs in it, those after time usually get worked out. Am I able on linux mint to install gome 3 session to test it on my machine?
Ответитьno creative windows 7 or 10 no for my sorry arc menu in right and left with much configuration nice but this its copy
ОтветитьIt's a great menu. Arc menu, and Dash to Dock at the screen bottom is soooo much better than stock GNOME 3!
ОтветитьCan i use this for linux mint MATE?
