I copied the theme for my own game and got Irassians as precursors. I have plague in while as an artifact!

I think it is just not allowed YET to alter your preference regarding planets. You need "glandular acclimatisation" in order to do that.
I keep repeating myself, there IS a tech for L slots with disruptor technology.
Maybe if you go to war with the Devourers, just take their Northern territory in order to keep the other guys blocked off.

I rather think that the empire as a whole would benefit from keeping some biological serviles as well as a continued cleansing of certain others. Perhaps instituting of penal colonies and slave-worlds?

So the traditional germaphobes decide to alter bio structure of their race and once mutation occurs are in panic. Quill really missed out on ability to go psionic ascension way.
Also we have more planets than habitats as voiddwellers without migration treaties - something went horribly wrong in this playthrough :V
