Nvidia announced Omniverse in which it trains its AI models to drive using a 1 to 1 simulation of reality, physics and all. EVERY car company will have access to this tech..not just Tesla. Tesla has not innovated in this regard it's simply survived until someone else did. Nvidia. So no, FSD is NOT a Tesla thing but the next industry benchmark as a whole. All musk had to do was keep his mouth shut, wait, and ride the wave of money that would have flooded into Tesla coffers. Shame.

Jim is making the fatal error of comparing FSD (insanely complex) to simple systems like cruise control, airbags, and ABS. I do believe other cars will have FSD, but it will be licensed from Tesla. Any other solution will be years behind that.

Yeah, interesting... he's seeding that Tesla, in his estimation, will have a 3 - 4 year lead. I maintain that at this point I see no one else in the rear view that is going to catch Tesla on robotaxi.
How would anyone be able to even if they can get autonomous to work without using Tesla's FSD? If you're Waymo, can you put on roads thousands of cars a week? That's what Tesla builds today.... of the currently very low volume Model Y. The cybercab manufacturing line is being designed to produce 50% more at 50% the cost and 50% the space as Model Y. Even if it took Tesla to the end of 2026 to reach full speed on that line(s), by 2030 the compound annual production will allow them to have more cybercabs on roads than Model Ys at todays run rates. That's in the realm of 20 million... 🤯 And if it's true that every one of them could be 5x as effective on miles driven... 🤑
