I love this format. This is exactly what I need to learn how to configure and rice a twm. I need something that I can follow along visually. I’m kinda stupid, so I need my hand held the first couple times. Lol! Personally I would love something that’s a little more slow paced and thorough, but if the idea is to do speed runs to challenge yourself for fun, I think it could make for some great content. It’ll be helpful for me personally either way.

It still so funny you spend tons of time doing everything manually when you have so many dotfiles managers, that let you configure colors in one place and do not waste your time. I use chezmoi, because it allows to use go templates. I put all gruvbox colors as variables and use it everywhere, in sway, in GTK, in terminal config, etc. Although I'm not distrohopping I'm fully prepared if I need to install arch linux on new working laptop. It so easy, as to clone the repo, run several bash scripts to install necessary packages and run `chezmoi apply`. Done. I share my configs in odysee as yt doesn't like links

creative and funny idea those "devops speedruns", i just call them like this from now.
to make it competitive the community must agree into a same hardware that everybody uses, maybe a SBC.
im sure a bunch of people would adapt to this speedrun idea.

JPGs better than WebP? What are you smoking, man?
First off, why do you prefer a lossy format for your wallpapers? Don't you want the best possible quality for a rice? If that's true, then lossless WebP or lossless JPEG XL is the way to go. Those two offer the best lossless compression. PNGs do the job too, but their file size is very large compared to the newer formats.

In case you really want lossy compression, then WebP is still superior. At the same image quality, WebP achieves file sizes that are up to 35% smaller than JPEG.

While I respect your freedom to hate on objectively superior image formats, feh does support WebP, so why even bother with that in a speedrun? Those were valuable seconds, my man.

you can use live customization sites for customizing i3 colors just like bashrc customization sites.

I would really like to see you do a full length video going over all the ins and outs of i3 + Polybar. I know there's a lot of videos out there, but I feel like you and DT are the only people who give little foot notes like "hey if you have a problem with X it's because there is an issue with Y" and Those little things mean a lot to people who don't have much experience ricing tiling WMs.

If anyone lived the issue that icons are not appear on polybar, just change the polybar config like the below:

font-0 = "Hack Nerd Font;Size=10"

font-1 = "Hack Nerd Font;Size=10"

So all you should is deleting ';2' , that will solve the issue.
