How To Deliver Bad News Respectfully

I don't like sugar coating and I don't like too much bla bla. Good news or bad news ,I always tell ppl to just get to the point. I don't have time just cut to the chase.

How do you respond to an “ambush”— something that’s so surprising and shocking but targets all your insecurities. I find this happened in situations especially about parenting.

Me: The good news is there's help. The bad news is... it me. Ha!

From someone who has always had a VERY straight up, dont beat around the bush, kind of mom i would agree. Basically like telling a child "hey, im ripping this band aid off, prepare yourself kiddo." The anxiety of not knowing is way worse. The faster it happens the faster everyone involved can move on.

That’s for sure….don’t beat around the bush!!! Actually I’d rather just hear it… no introduction…no ‘this is gonna be bad news’ etc. just SAY IT.

Wouldn't it be more direct to just say, "you're fired"? I mean, "bad news" could be anything...

I have some bad news. I put new coffee creamer back in the break room.

Them: "This is going to be hard to hear."

Me: "I'm not staying another shift."

Exactly, hard conversations are a part of life. Thank you kind human. Pausing till peace comes for me when delivering difficult conversations and we take a few healing breaths together if the person is very close to me :)
