There is another hexmod besides the two cars. A purple pickup truck called the Vulture. I picked mine up at a Target in the US.
ОтветитьUmm the xmods was the original one of these they was so much better way more parts to upgrade or customize. Very similar but I was getting my xmlds up to 35 mph which was fast and we had a top ten drag lost at school like street outlaws does but this was way before street outlaws and I was always 1st and 2nd on the list they was beasts and we would drag race them in the hallways during lunch for a dollar per race so if you win you get the other guys dollar. I might get one Ioce real rc race ars and race 1/10 scale at our local indoor carpet track and I have a huge mini z track in my shop so I might get a few of these to race as well looks fun and cheaper then mini z. Well they look way to twitchy for a cheaper mini rc car to buy a few of them to have races with friends since all ymmfeiends don't have mini z and those are expensive but if I make Emm AWD then it might be do able
ОтветитьThat’s awesome!
Ответитьif i was kid i would want this over anything
ОтветитьWhat is the axle to axle measurement and width. Im trying to find a chassis to put a model car body on. Yellow one looks long enough for my needs
ОтветитьI still have an original one
ОтветитьThere was x mods by radio shack pretty cool they are almost exactly like the mini z
ОтветитьThat's actually kinda cool
ОтветитьI like the hex mod rc car but I wish they would do something about the battery 🔋 😢
ОтветитьIs this better then the mini z?
ОтветитьAre the chassis the same?
ОтветитьCome on Tom back in the 80s I raced modified scalextric 94 ft circuit Chris red F I raced Williams and if I won he always said he's haven a bad day.
ОтветитьReminds me of Record Breakers...yeah, im old
Ответить@TomleyRC Hexbug has been bought out, and/or something else major has happened or is happening. The Entertainer toy shops have been selling these for £36 for the big red set and £20 for the smaller yellow set, that's 60% off each. I went all in! I got them just too late for my son's birthday party, but we might get his mates back at Christmas and set up a race day in the village hall. I bought some Halfords foam floor mats to make a nice grippy track.
ОтветитьJust got mine out of Goodwill brand new for $25USD, can't wait to build it!!!
ОтветитьI have the yellow one
ОтветитьRadio Shack beat them to the punch in the early 2000's and the cars actually looked better
ОтветитьThe closest thing to hobby grade that you'll find in a regular department store.
ОтветитьReminds me of ZipZaps from Radio shack
Ответитьi picked one up today very similar to xmods and mini Z's these are. paid 20 quid for mine.
Ответитьyer its terrible 😂 just tried mine and utter garbage compared to xmods original
ОтветитьPlease help, I got the red one but the wheel well on the plastic body is too small. The wheels don't turn properly bc they hit the plastic
ОтветитьWhere the heck was this when I was a kid? Would have been into these instead of Ninjas 😅
ОтветитьIts X-Mods with ALL the mods in one package. Why couldn't we get this in the US?
Ответитьare these like the old xmods?
ОтветитьThey’re called Xmods.
ОтветитьYou can take the diff gear from a different hex mod and put it in there to make it all wheel drive and it does soo much better
ОтветитьI found them on Amazon. I’m getting both, thanks for the cool products! Keep it up sir!
Ответитьxmods are what made me fall in love with rc. i still like 1/28 scale the most because you can use bodys off of typical model kits if you retrofit them. mini z is terribly overprices but they are great cars although ive never owned one.
ОтветитьCan you put all the hop up on the longer wheelbase and have that AWD? Yup NM
ОтветитьYooooo, 6666th like hahaha
ОтветитьThese things are awesome!!
ОтветитьIf you like the cars, you should check out the truck. It looks like a mid 70s Ford truck. I think it's called the vulture. I have the red car and the truck. I really like them.
ОтветитьLots of great micro RC cars coming out now, but still nothing that matches the incredible Dr!ft RC.
ОтветитьI won a HUGE lot of Radio Shack XMODS on ebay in the late 2000s and they were a blast.
ОтветитьI'd be willing to bet the other steering links change the toe, the shorter steering link would for sure help with the oversteer
ОтветитьWow
ОтветитьKinda remind me of a bigger version of the RadioShack Zip-Zaps
ОтветитьDnano knockoff very nice
ОтветитьI feel like the HexMods name is kind of way too obvious for people to think "Oh, it reminds me of XMods." No, dumbass, it IS XMods, just minus the strip mall store front and someone asking for your phone number every time you go in to buy a pack of batteries.
I'm stoked, this makes my inner teenager geek out..
It's not identical to the X-Mods but defo an evolution and rebrand! Everything from lights body and drivetrain mods are very similar!
ОтветитьThese look like X Mods. I think radio shack sold them 20 years ago. Pretty cool.
ОтветитьI actually owned the Red one ('21 Night Hawk) (well actually 3 :P) and I just heavily modified mine.
Aftermarket parts that I installed:
1: Yeah Racing Ball Bearings for Mini Z AWD.
2: GLRacing 10.5mm Universial Swing Shafts(the ones that have a plastic/metal ring because the rubber ones will rub against inside the wheel knuckle, also trim the pins that goes in the cups to prevent those that touch or won't fit through the bearings).
3: Red Aluminium wheel nuts.
4: Kyosho Mini Z Narrow Drift Tires (Positivety will give it some more ground clearence than a Mini Z, if using the original Hexmods Wheels on them, Make sure they're secure with a tiny sliver of Blu-Tack).
5: Another set of Red parts that are spray painted semi Matte Black to give it a carbon fibre effect one for the rear bumper and the hood/bonnet with the vents in the middle, others are in a ziploc bag already painted for swapping (+ a second black engine cover turned into a roof spoiler).
6: Xmods GT wing from the Red Supra Body Kit (that I screwed into a rear Taillight spoiler to give it a sexy look)
7: Xmods stock Exhaust tip from the evo 8 for the rear bumper (retrofitting required)
8: Another set of Headlights from the second Night Hawk which now have 3mm holes and Coloured Black to show some looks.
9: Any sort of aluminium Narrow Wheels that have 0mm offset (the same to all the hexmods wheels that come in a set)
10: Aluminium Brakes for decoration.
and that's it for now.
The red one is orange
Ответитьpls gib me one😢
ОтветитьYea X- Mods was ages ago and was sold at radio shack lol
ОтветитьIt was this video a year ago that made me want one. I remember when these had licensed bodies. Found the Nighthawk and Vulture Hooniganish purple truck for $30 total US on eBay. I needed a smile. 🤓
ОтветитьI started RC with zipzaps as a tween. I then upgraded to x-mods, and finally hobby grade. One thing I liked doing was testing all of the optional parts to find the best combination. It turned out stickiest tires, dual motor (hot glue) using the fastest (purple?) motors was the winningest combination. That was zipzaps, i did the same thing for x-modz.
ОтветитьRadio shack used to sell something like this awesome fun
ОтветитьThey were around you had to get them from radio shack they were called X-mods.
