More time for me to make my video....MWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! Just kidding, a similar issue happened to me when I ordered a new screen for my X240. They sent me an X260 screen, which while electronically compatible was not physically compatible and was also stuck at full brightness. I hope everything gets sorted out!

That sucks. I saw the PCLiquidations listing and considering the eBay prices this would have been a great deal... but no. Maybe you could request to get the real docking station and keep the 400 Series dock so you could sell it later.

I have a docking station for my T-60 and T400, just for the parallel port for printing.

I have that same dock, it's pretty ice but it's not video dock and $45 in my opinion is way too high for it considering the fact the market is flooded with them 2nd hand. I think I paid $25 for mine two years ago.

I don't like the look of the HP docking station for HP EliteBook 8440p. And it looks like there's not much of ports that I would actually use.

I am literally selling the one that you got by mistake. I have T450s running Linux (KDE NEON). I have two of the docks and only use one. Hope you get the right one man. That sucks.

Perhaps you already know but in case you don't or others might not know, you can get your money back and probably keep the item. Go to eBay and request a refund for "Product Not as Described." If the company ignores you, which I'm assuming they will, just wait until you are able to ask eBay to step in; eBay will tell you at the end of filling out your refund request when you can ask them to step in and they will refund the product and tell you to keep it. If nothing else you at least get your money back and can keep the item too... Cheers...

seeing how excited you were to get that (the one you ordered) station, I hope this is just a "we are so sorry, we will get the CORRECT ONE shipped out ASAP" type thing ... that reaction though ... I know that feeling of "wait ... THIS IS NOT what I ordered"

if they have the one you ordered an even if it was a mistake @ the price listed .. i'd (if i was them) send the CORRECT one out at that price (fixing it on my site) since that is what you ordered and think of the good PR ... "a mistake was made ... BUT they made it right"

PC Liquidations sent me the wrong Laptop... I ordered the i7 X230 and ended up getting a X230 Tablet....

I'd personally buy it from somewhere else, clearly the price of these things is quite a bit higher than $45, either way in this case they need to either refund you fully or send you a working version of the correct item

Although I have an x230t I suspect it may not be compatible. Unless it's like the slim bases, where you remove a plastic bracket and it works fine with a wider range of models. Time to investigate the possibilities..

I feel this "PC Liquidations" needs to have an internal cataloguing system and actually write the warehouse location number in the listing title or "item specifics".

$45 for this dock is pretty sweet, I’d make very good use of it with my work laptop. But obviously, the fact that it’s not what you ordered, is a pain in the ass...

The advanced dock only has pcie x1 speed, but it would still be better than one of those mini pcie to x16 adapters

I recently ordered L440 with 1366x768, but I got an 1600x900 c: but other day I ordered x230 with IPS screen and got shitty tn :/

You can max out the cpu in the T400 by putting in a Core2Extreme x9100. I have done this before. I was worried about the temps as the chip has a higher tdp but temps were fine. T400 cooling system handled it ok coupled with some high quality thermal paste. Only downside is reduced battery life, about -30mins.

This is going to come as a huge disappointment to everyone here but this plan will not work with that ultra bay.
I think that PCI lane is at most a 4x (and it might even be a 2x), there is no way to get more power to that card if it uses any more than 75-Watts (the Max before external power is needed) and finally, the slot in that ultra bay model is only sized for a single slot card, and I think that card, like most today is a dual or two slot size.
