As a three month old pipe smoker in my 49th year on this planet, this was perfect as I own a tin. My issue is I have too many tobaccos open and bought some bulk items that I want to finish prior to opening this tin. Thank you for a great video.

I'll ditto everyone else David in saying what a great review. Excellent! You have me interested in the book but as soon as that "nasty" word was heard PERIQUE, you lost me. As I've mentioned on other reviews too many memories of when I was youngster and having pepper in my mouth as a punishment. Yes sir, I was a wise guy So thank you David for that wonderful review but no perique or Haunted Bookshop for me.

Haunted bookshop is beginning to grow on me. Right out of the tin for me it was harsh. Once jarred for a month or two it tamed the beast. I really starting to enjoy it. Thanks for your thoughts! Great job.

I was really disappointed when I ordered a couple oz of HBS in Bulk and it was completely dried out. I’m attempting to rehydrate it (slowly) now. Hopefully I can enjoy some soon enough in my 673

I can’t smell so tin note doesn't work for me.. the only pipe tobacco that I could smell was mississippi river.. i did not like haunted bookshop when I tried it... i prefer 3p's

Great review! Loved HBS from the first bowl I find the earthy flavor mushroom like. Try Mississippi River for another complex, earthy smoke.

Great video and review 👏, I have a tin of HBS, now jarred, I had a bowl and it wasn't to my taste, of course I will try it again, to me it seems too burley foward...if you have any Bayou Morning flake lying around smell that the tin note, which I think is heavenly and sweet, and the HBS, which smells like an old shoe to me... I like Bayou which has 25% perique, but the HBS just tastes blah...I will certainly finish the jar before I make a final thumb up or down for me, it is strong on the nic, which can be a good thing since ...I found myself really wanting more of nic punch tonight after smoking some aro's and light English yesterday. Bayou morning took care of that, and the finisher bowl tonight was Sansepolcro, which I think the cigar leaf is way more peppery than perique...sorry for the ramble..really like your videos and creative conversational style, and have enjoyed immensely the pipe club and the guest speakers...really enlightening.. !!!! Thanks

My first impression of Haunted Bookshop was that it actually tasted kinda like the smell of an old book that had been packed away in a dry attic for many years. Kind of musty, toasty, papery, with that hint of spice that buuids slowly over the course of the bowl. I only tried it for the first time a few months ago, and it has very quickly become an all day smoke for me. I find myself reaching for it almost as much as all other blends combined.
