There’s a difference between slat armor and spaced armor. It doesn’t usually detonate early, in fact a lot of the time an RPG can go through, it’s just that it messes up shaped charge warheads so the copper jet fires unpredictably or not at all.

Just use an Ak - 47 to penetrate it. What a piece of crap. It protects the crew if any rocks fly up from the road, although, bigger size rocks flying up from the road could take it out. They say that cage armor really works, in case they don’t use small arms fire to take it out. You can’t exit the engine compartment. True, the driver can remove a large panel, to access the engine located immediately to his right, however, there is no way the driver can exit the driver compartment through the large front engine access . . . Hatch. . .because there’s an engine there. People use ‘Drive’ but I suppose up a steep hill the driver might put the transmission in the 1 or 2 position. Hehe, nice engine sound.
