Keep in mind that there was much if any sanitation --- no wound or hands or instruments washing !!!
In homes turned into makeshift hospitals -- sacks were tied out the window & the limbs were thrown in them.
A soldier had a better chance of 'living' IF on the battlefield then they did in a 'field
hospital '. But to be fair-- the doctor's & those who helped in the field hospitals or home make shift hospitals did the best they could with the little they had to work with.
bruhh just let me die please 😅
ОтветитьWhy is no one talking about i5 being sent to the ships cook omg
ОтветитьFelt so many pain watching this. People of that era literally suffered beyond words and still lived. I won't wish to be born in that era again .
ОтветитьListen I do not have a weak stomach but this detailed and clear illustration made me stop eating my lunch 😂
ОтветитьSorry? Send what to the ship's cook?
Ответить😐👍
ОтветитьI almost passed out just now
ОтветитьHold the f up. Did u just say they sent the leftover leg the the ship’s cook???? 😮
Ответить...just looking for the other people who heard that last part....about sending it off to the cook...🤕😟
ОтветитьMy word!😳
ОтветитьLet’s take a moment to thank the founder of anesthesia, William TG Morton
ОтветитьShip's cook!! Did he say...? 🤢🤮
ОтветитьWow we are lucky to be born in this era!
ОтветитьUm… how come im not seeing any comments about dude saying “if it’s found fit enough, itd be sent to the ship’s cook.” as my guy is patting the severed limb😮
ОтветитьWhoa. Insanity what people used to have to go through!
ОтветитьSo they will gulliotine the leg if its still attached?
ОтветитьAnd women say only they suffered since the ancient times.
ОтветитьIs it just me or does this make me very uncomfortable.
ОтветитьThe only good side of things about this is you'd probably pass out from the pain shock fairly quickly.
ОтветитьJesus mary mother of christ, you'd be in so much pain hes so casual telling you poor people back then
ОтветитьThey had opium
ОтветитьDammit man! Nothing nice about it!
ОтветитьUnless you died of infection first 😢
ОтветитьI’m sorry sent to whose cook?! 😮
Ответить“And if it was found fit enough, it was sent to the ships cook.” … nice
ОтветитьCould be worse,Robert Liston's most notorious surgery yielded 300% mortality rate
ОтветитьI couldn't handle that pain, no way. I'd vomit from the pain, then die from shock, probably 😐 (yes, I'm female & we didn't usually fight in battle, just imagining the pain & process is all that's in my brain atm... poor guys! )
ОтветитьIs this why so many pirates had peg legs lol
ОтветитьI can't even stand to watch! 😱
ОтветитьOk,OUCH!!!
ОтветитьWow……..
ОтветитьDoctor Barbers were a real thing btw… poor fucker probably had his beard trimmed with the same knife right after surgery while he was drunk off his ass
ОтветитьWait.. the ships cook!?!?! Say more… I need more words. For… for like… who is eating human legs??
Ответить"sent off to the ship's cook" 💀
ОтветитьI assume the patient would have passed out before the amputation was complete
ОтветитьLike Trump himself said: Can't fix stupid! Idiocracy is a documentary.
ОтветитьWait wait what?! The cook. 😮
ОтветитьUh am I the only one to catch the ships cook part? Wtf
ОтветитьWait, did he say it would be sent off to the ship’s cook???
ОтветитьWould getting really drunk help
ОтветитьThis hurts to watch…
ОтветитьAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!
Ответитьthey would give alcohol to drink to some wat dull the pain or they wud pass out from the pain or die from the pain either way it all sucked to survive a musket shot
ОтветитьComing up in a time when lidocaine was not even around, just kill me 💀😂
ОтветитьI've heard that this is almost as painful as being unfollowed on Instagram
ОтветитьIF they were a really good surgeon they would have left a big flap of skin dangling so they could use it to cover the wound.
ОтветитьI’m sorry… you just literally tied off their veins?… 🤯
ОтветитьGonna call my mother and thank her for not giving birth to me 200 years earlier. Goddamn...
Ответить
