If you want to come live in the Netherlands please think about it again .... we have:

- The highest taxes of Europe for about everything: food, gas, benzine, road taxes, retail, etc., etc., it's ridiculous.
- When you work you pay ridiculous income tax. But you live frugal, so you build yourself a nice savings account. If you come above a certain amount they will tax that again. So you will pay tax over money you paid already tax over. They get you twice. You can't be rich.. they will hunt you down.
- Same with your house, you pay off your mortgage. That means your house will become yours. But a house represents a big value. Your the owner of real estate. So you pay real estate tax (OZB, determined by the WOZ, a obliged taxation by the government) Why: by paying ,and living frugal, you have money. So they will come for you.
- You need water. Water is expensive, why: taxed.
- You need power. Power is expensive, why: made with gas and taxed.
- You need gas for your heater (in NL always cold), that's the most expensive, why: scarce (war everywhere) and taxed.
- You need to poop. So you pay for a sewer connection. That's expensive. Why: taxed.
- Once a week they come to empty your waste bin. That's expensive. Why: taxed.
- Your mom or daddy dies. They leave you with a nice amount of money. Before you get it, it's heavily taxed. They leave you their home. That means all financial obligations on that home are immediately your problem. So you sell it, pay off the remaining mortgage and debts, and then you have a real nice amount of money. Before you get that, it's heavily taxed.
- Furthermore there are a lot of things the government obliges you to do: you need to have all kind of insurances. That's not voluntarily. For instance: you need to have a health insurance. By law. The amount you pay for that a month will make you cry. Same for your house, car, liability, etc.
- Even if you have health insurance, you still have a huge own risk. A lot is not insured.
- And that's about the hospital. Everything else is the same: Dentist, Fysio, etc.
- The Netherlands has a real bad asylum policy. All asylum seekers are welcome. So that means we don't have enough houses. We are short of 100.000 houses per year. The growth of the population goes faster than we can build new homes. Consequence: if you want a home you have to wait forever. They are real scarce. So you say I will buy one. You can't. To expensive for your salary. Even if you think you can pay that.. you don't get a mortgage. The conditions what you need to comply with are ridiculous. They're insane.
- Because of all this unguided people walking around here it's also not safe anymore. A lot of crimes all the time at public places, etc. Same as in the UK...
- So the sum of everything you pay is huge. From who does the government get it the most? From the middle class working people. They are squeezed out to the max. Because the elite class is not affected, they have enough money and lawyers to help them dodge taxes. And the lower class is helped by the government with a lot of subsidies. But these subsidies have a financial threshold. If you earn more than xxx euro you do not qualify. Who for instance? The middle class.
- Then add to that, that we are drowning in millions of laws and rules. Everything is not allowed and nothing is tolerant. You get a fine for about everything, BOA's (sort of police) are everywhere.
