I think you are misunderstanding him. He just meant that he knows he won't walk in and beat any of the top 10 world superheavyweights in any short amount of time. He's saying he's willing to stick with it for long-term to become the best eventually. He's been warned about the conditioning of the frame that it takes to be strong, and he knows his own body and limits better than 99.9% of the world, so he's surrounding himself with pros and learning things the right way.

Shaw just showed where he beat Brandon Allen who Devon said was a good arm wrestler. I think that gives us an idea of where he is at right now. If Brian stays committed and is training daily for arm wrestling along with staying injury free I am not sure sure in 2 years he can't compete with Levan. Even though Devon is my favorite arm wrestler Levan would not be able to rip through Brian like he did Devon in there first match.

Khalid is a lost talent in armwrestling. His win over schoolboy with little or no training was pretty impressive and he gave Micheal the toddler Todd a tough battle in practice in Dubai when Toddler was still top 5 in the world. Khalids grip is not far off Shaw's based on his feats in the grip dungeon in Dubai. I would like to see Khalid compete against Levan with 2 years prep behind him. I don't think he'll learn how to arm wrestle good enough in a year but with a little more time he will likely throw levan off the table. Levan can hide behind his skill level for a while but eventually the strength gap will be too far that it won't matter.

Larry Wheels had impressive numbers in a lot of lifts, and yet he loses badly to any of the elite guys. He was also guided and monitored by the likes of Devon, Coach ray, Michael Todd...etc and that didn't helped him progress much. Techniques and experiences are what makes the top guys complete arm wrestlers. John Brzenk is a perfect example. At the age of 60, still putting up a hell of a fight against much younger and stronger guys due to his experiences. Brain Shaw is strong, yes, but it takes time to accumulate actual IQ when pulling on the table, and experiences. There's no chance at this point and time he can even come close to any of the top elites, let alone Levan.... In saying so, he does have potential to be up there, but it will take more than two years.
