ERRATA: In the size comparison, I called the Hongdian "Year of the Dragon" a D5. It is not. It is the Hongdian N24 "Year of the Dragon".

'At least the Wancher is manageable in the hand'? (sorry)

Thanks for another great video, my friend. Personally, I can do without the sexual comments and such. Just my two cents worth.

Placing Murray's Wancher on the desk in the ball stand so it doesnt flop onto the floor is probably good. Lovely Eureka Diamond Dodecagon Ebonite, love that diamond cap and the colour. You are right, Oxblood is perfect with it. Writes beautifully. BTW Happy New Year and Happy Chinese New Year. 祝您新年快乐,身体健康

I've been pronouncing wancher as "one cher" 😂

The Eureka looks wonderful, and very tempting. But how on earth "Wan-Cher" rhymes with "Merchant Banker" is beyond me; must be something to do with all that cold weather over in your neck of the woods. My advice?--Just keep your hands on the pens, and nowhere else!
Love from the Drop Bears.

some history: wancher was the brand from a Taobao seller trading Sailor pens in China. I bought some sailors from them. end of story. nice review.

Not to be a prude but I thought that Wancher might actually be pronounced like rancher. Not nearly as amusing I admit.
Thanks for the reviews Doug. Your contributions to fountain pen reviews makes me feel less like a loser for collecting them.

Hi Doug, loved this video, it was a lot of fun. One day it would be a fun video to invite your friend Murray the Grand Poobah of the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes (I mean the fountain pen Buffaloes haha) to be on the show. :)

Hi Doug Aussies and Brits spell it wanker not wancher. So I think you may have the pronunciation a bit wrong😊

Won-Cher? Could be on to something there. Either way I prefer the natural wood material and the 1.5 mm Stub nib.
Thanks Murray for making the pen available- it’s a gem 💎.

My only complaint with my two eureka pens is the small step up to the remainder of the barrel is cut very sharp and with the way I grip a pen with my giant banana hands, it cuts into my thumb and is a bit uncomfortable for long writing sessions but other than that I love my eurekas…especially the blasted and tuned nibs!

Ebony...
Ron Swanson: "We only subscribe to two magazines: Reader's Digest and Ebony. Ebony was a clerical error but it was an interesting year of reading."
Michael Scott: "Yeah, sure. You know business. Sitting up here in your ivory tower and your ebony tower."

I have the Eureka in blue/black ebonite—I love how the cap facets pick up like light as it is rotated. The long section makes this a very comfortable writer.

Yes, Ebony wood makes really good fingerboards for guitars and basses.
Well, with the exception for Brian May and his Red Special that have an Oak fingerboard painted in black to make the illusion that it is Ebony..
And Brian makes it sound spectacular and with a playing style that nobody can imitate.. 🎸🎸🇪🇸🇪🇸👍👍
