i know of a lady in Charlotte who has a old little house inbetween a bunch of high rise buildings and medical buildings. City tried hard to get rid of her and never succeeded because she refused to sell.

it’s worth noting that the owners are jeff clayton (the frontman of antiseen) and his brother jimmy, who owns repo records in town. it’s unlikely that they would’ve been able to stay afloat otherwise, but regardless it always gives me a ton of nc pride to see this place literally fucking over gentrification
