Hi James. I was the winning bidder of the MCP 72 9.8 for 187.50. Good to see I only paid 22% of the high sale. Keep up the great content
ОтветитьMore proof that market correction is a thing...... Oh and maybe recession. Eh. It is what it is.
ОтветитьThese books are all books I recently either sold or bought 😂 I sold a ASM 344 9.6 at a show I was selling at for $60 and the dude kept thinking it was a reprint. I had to explain that I would be lucky to get $60 for a 9.6 on eBay. He bought it . After pressing and grading that book broke even. My weapon x 72 sold for $248 on short boxed, venom 1 recently sold for $125 on eBay, asm 328 9.4 sold for $80 surprisingly.
ОтветитьI love comics
ОтветитьI’m sure you’re trying not to laugh throughout this video!!😂😂
ОтветитьKeep it up, these help me seek books on the dip, love it
ОтветитьMaybe do books that have the most upside short term/long term
ОтветитьI was eyeballing Teen titans 12 (1st batman who laughs) for 3 years but was hesitant as a graded 9.8 would vary between 1000-800$. I finally bought one but heres the catch, it was being sold for 475$ and i offered 400$ and got it at that price. plus shipping, it came up to 430$.
ОтветитьThese last 2 videos are hysterical and depressing all at the same time lol. 2021 wasn't sustainable and we have not reached the bottom of this market correction.
ОтветитьI regret not selling EVERY COMIC THAT I OWN one year ago.
ОтветитьStick with gold and silver, and very EARLY bronze, and you won't lose your shirt next time.
ОтветитьMyComicShop has a Vengeance of Bane 1 for sale at just under $500 so has certainly tumbled. The better value in that book is at 9.6, but it is sad to see it drop.
The curse of Carnage is real, Maximum Carnage (to your wallet)! I'll top that $114 sale for the ASM 344, I just picked up a CBCS 9.8 newsstand for $100! Bargain! Don't care about the Cletus Kassidy first appearance, for me it is all about 1st Cardiac. Such a cool villain (later anti-hero) with huge potential in other media and one of my childhood favourites.
Last page cameos were NEVER considered "1st appearances" until newbies came in 2020 and tried to make up their own incorrect language and definition in the comic game. Anyone with experience, which really means those collecting pre-2020, don't make that mistake and weren't suckers being stuck with overpaid comics. So, kids, if you hear someone saying something like "Hulk 180 is the 1st appearance of Wolverine", just turn around and laugh at their ignorance and depleted bank account.
ОтветитьHeard you are going full time! You got this, for real you are good enough! Do some collaborations and keep the creativity for these new segments. By the way how much do you bench bro?
ОтветитьWow! I think I paid 25 dollars for raw ASM 360. A 9.8 slab is only a little more now!
ОтветитьLesson 1. Buy the books you want because YOU want them. Lesson 2. Don't worry about resale value. My Venom LP 1, Spiderman 316, etc. all signed by McFarlane and my Wolverine #1 signed by Stan Lee and Chris Clairmont all hang beautifully in my office. Zero Care about how much they sell for in the future.
ОтветитьIt's kind of scary watching prices fall like that, even for non-speculator collectors because wanting to buy one feels like trying to catch a falling knife. This does demonstrate how ridiculously high prices were getting, far beyond their historic value.
ОтветитьYes I still have all of my Ghostrider rise of the Midnight sonscomics! Penciled and inked by Joe Adam and Andy Kubert! There artwork is tottaly amsome!
ОтветитьASM 361 should be in that list also.
ОтветитьShe-Hulk 1 is not nor ever was even remotely considered a “mega key”. C’mon now … beyond the reality of that truism is the fact that mega keys don’t crater like shehulk.
ОтветитьCould you do a video on promotional comics? Like Superman meets the Quick Bunny? Things like that.
ОтветитьI love comics but CGC is such a waste of money
ОтветитьWhen CGC finally started to clear their ENORMOUS backlog of books needing to be graded, it was almost a guarantee that prices would drop. Unfortunately, these last 2 videos only reflect reality ! As a pure 100% collector, I am thrilled !
ОтветитьJust another note on these videos. It is a fact that the recession we are in will only get worse, which in turn, will greatly affect the value of all key comics. The good news is that I honestly believe this is a great investment opportunity. Only if a comic collector has the available expendable income to spend. A heavy stress on expendable.
ОтветитьAwsome Video Thanks!!
Ответить😱😱😱
ОтветитьLove these videos! Every time you show one I'm interested in, I get on ebay and start looking. Appreciate the tips!
Ответить'holding up hulk'?! bawawawahahahaahah Hulk wishes he were just being 'held'.
ОтветитьHow about Superman 4, went for $375 (my sale!) the weekend the movie came out, down to $94.
ОтветитьI never ever liked Eric Larsen's art. Coming from the 80s the 90s art helped me end my collecting. McFarlane was fresh and new. But it got insane and I'm not surprised most 90s books are dollar bins especially X-Men
ОтветитьThe movies can elevate a a comic on specs and hype… but when the movie or series is a quote unquote flop….the air comes out fast…and the sellers are grabbing them and are stuck with them…and if that’s your job you can’t afford to wait 3 or 4 years until the price maybe comes up again….buyers beware 😖😣🙁😕😕
ОтветитьGreat video very very informative 😮
ОтветитьGreat vid James. Really enjoyed the freezing CGC case animation.
ОтветитьI'm not sure the covid years should be used as a reference on how well a comic is doing, to many people that had never had money, got all this free money from the government and went stupid wild buying everything and eating up all the hype and fomo. They killed the curve like that one kid in high school always did. Lmao 🤣.
ОтветитьLoving this market! Now if only had the disposable income..I would be buying like crazy!
ОтветитьMine comic that sadly tanked was Elsa Bloodstone #1 It wasn't even with FOMO, I truly thought it would sustain the 800.00 Price I paid for it, and not 2 weeks later...it was down to 250.00. 9.8 which is what I got as well. sigh
ОтветитьThings got out of hand for a few years, but the market is finally starting to correct itself.
ОтветитьCould this be people are selling their comic low because of the current inflation we are going through and the fact people need money right now and they are willing to take losses on their comics to get that money? I strongly believe. If the economy right now was the same as 2019 I do not believe many of these comics will be on this list
ОтветитьOh man, why don’t I ever get such great deals on books? These folks seriously scored with some low bids; good on them and many thanks for putting this video together!
ОтветитьGuess l need to hold on to my Amazing Spiderman carnage books for now!
Find these kind of videos from you informative and fascinating. Please keep them coming!
the actual first , cameo appearance of wolverine......
ОтветитьI have a low grade hulk 180 won it in a blind auction for charity. Might of over paid but it was charity. Also got first appearance of second green goblin.
ОтветитьSAD TO SAY SOME OF THE OLD TIME DEALER ARE DUMPING THESE BOOKS PRIME EXAMPLE THEY OVERSHIP VENOM 1 WENT BACK TO PRINT MORE. AS AN EXAMPLE WHITE BAG SUPERMAN STILL IN THE BAG. FOUND IN A 1.00 BIN.
ОтветитьHey great video, a few of your mentions I have been able to get at real deal prices, but not CGC's, I tend to go for grail's in that situation. I picked up that Batman 567 for under $20.00 NM, those ASM's you mentioned about Carnage was good info, I was eyeing that one ASM book with Carnage & Spiderman locked in combat, white cover it's hovering between $100 -$150 now but maybe I'll wait on that one. I am eyeing CGC Vengence of Bain, I passed on a 9.6 for about $100 to pursue other titles at the time, but yes that book seems to be price trending down, but I think it will always be a collectible book. Thanks
ОтветитьSome people on eBay still have it as 800, and when I make a offer of 360 I get declined 😂
