Unless he never actually realises what she is doing and what she has done to him (everyone says he is not very smart). Well as a regular person, to me they look like they’re separating because, in very basic terms, I think for relationships to work, as you said, they need a strong foundation but also, they need to have mutual projects that unites them for the rest of their lives.
Clearly it’s not there professionally.
But what’s weird is that a couple that’s so privileged financially with two young kids (yes I believe they exist), would be working separately. This is a vulnerable time for the kids. They should be together and there with them as opposed to being worried about money when they don’t need to be worried about it. I wish they’d just dial back on their lifestyle or whatever they do that makes them need crazy money opportunities when they have it already.

I think most couples and families don't work together, poor old MM had nothing else but to bully her way into the RF workforce as she had nothing lined up in her future (old bit part mattress actress roles are not required by any viewers) and she did not even own her own home nor car when she met Harry. So, her grift using poor old Harry has not worked out, people see both of them as ridiculously untalented, lying, grifting losers who are alarmingly indiscreet and greedy. I feel now that the "professional separation" has happened, they can relax with their friends and not grift nor pitch to them, their friends, their acquaintances and their contacts but, they don't have genuine friends, they are "friends" so Harry is not going to go to an event with her for her "friend" as it is all networking, they never were friends rather mutual back stratching opportunists. The Suck exes do not appear able to tolerate each other any more, there is no point in pretending to be an entertainment force, worthy of big bucks and praise, no point pretending to be competent employees and employers as we have all seen their "talents' and continual failures over the years. I think Harry needs to grovel at his families feet begging forgiveness. He then needs to take the kids on a vacation to visit his family and then just not come back. Tell Megan if she wants to see them, come to Britain. They then need to move quietly into the background to let the public forgive them and get a fresh start. She will need to be taught how to be a proper member of the BRF.
The children need to get to know his side of the family, play with their cousins and their grandfather, and learn their legacy and heritage. If she doesnt want to do that, she can come visit as often as she wants.
She has got herself into a position where she thinks she is set for life. If they divorced, not only would she get child support but probably an astronomical amount of alimony to maintain the lifestyle of a royal with homes and security, etc.
Actually, she should be stripped of any royal titles.

Can you imagine how much good they could have done with their money and royal background if it had been done with the emphasis on what was being done rather than on Megan? Whether they had stayed in Britain or come to the U.S., they could have done so much to help people and the climate, etc. And kept quiet about it and eventually, news would have got out about what they were doing and they would have been looked at more as she wanted to be looked at - a kind, loving humanitarian philanthropist.

I may be stupid, I am just a 70 year-old who has been married for 52 years! However, when you have a man that has been gone away from the home, his wife and his children, not seeing them or being with for 82 days, I would say there's more of a professional seperaration!
No man or woman who loves their spouse and children can or would go that long without being together! Unless one was in the service and deployed! They're just trying to hold it together until one of them gets what they want in a deal to call itk quits!
