The reason why all beef soup shops close on the same days is because they only use warm meat, not imported/frozen meats, so the shops only opens on the days of slaughtering.

Have you tried beef soup? If you haven't, I strongly recommend you try it next time. It is one of Tainan's local foods like milkfish.

I had never tried eel until waaay into my FiFTH DECade, {probably because, as you hinted at}, the eye appeal is none too.. appEELing?? LOL ANYway, when I finally DID try it, I think it was about THEE MOST EUPHORIC experience my mouth had ever HAD! LOVE it now, and get it, the Unagi at my "Yummitummi's", Yamatani's restaurant, EVERY time I order from there, (take-out only now)! LOVE it! xD

This is really late, but they have really good lamb hot pot in Irvine California. Definitely try it out if you are ever in California. It’s called Haidilao Hot Pot.

I love eel however that muddy eel dish was scary looking lol. This is the first video that didnt make me hungry though. Everything looked bland and slimy on camera. Of course you can not judge a food by its looks at all. Please dont take offense lovely Tainan people I am sure your food is amazing.
