Opening of 2013 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Minsk

The 2013 UCI Track Cycling World Championships kicked off at the Minsk Arena velodrome on 20 February. Partaking in the competition are 260 best cyclists from 35 countries. Belarus plays host to the world championships in the Olympic discipline for the first time. The opening ceremony was attended by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and President of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Pat McQuaid.
