You’re correct.

A wonderful video, i think all traders should have backtesting software for good reasons,
it would help in testing out various strategies instead of doing them manually
it produces the backtest results quickly thereby validating the strategy
although it is machine done, it would prove that most strategies don't work for human reasons
Backtest is what gives a trading strategy validation, forward test is what gives the strategy confidence.
