ОтветитьThis video is selling me on Amish life😂although i know the reality is different
ОтветитьSo reject things like cold medicine? Wow, must be torturous to get sick as an amish.
ОтветитьWhat's with the Amish doppelganger of Justin Trudeau in the thumbnail ?
ОтветитьI dunno if this is mentioned here but the Amish lost a lot of their members for a long period of time which is why they were such a small group in the early 1900's
ОтветитьBishhh, you don't even KNOW how plain I represent. I be keeping it no bling all day. Come get with a real brother in krist! Not "g-zuss"(suss), I'm talking krist novoselic y'all.
ОтветитьIf you never went to an Amish bakery or store your missing out.
ОтветитьThey could use the guy in the thumbnail photo as a sun dial!
ОтветитьSo it is a CULT
ОтветитьVery good video I learned a lot from this and I appreciate having the sponsor at the very end of the video.
ОтветитьFirst 30 seconds is full of lies. 8 can't watch rest. I bet this dude never lived near amish
ОтветитьI used to go visit family in Southern Indiana most summers & Christmas vacations as a kid in the 90s. My family wasn't Amish at all but there were a lot of them near the community. It was always confusing seeing them with horses and buggies, but at Walmart. But this video helps it make sense. They make great food though. I couldn't get enough angel food cake one summer I was there. It was made by the Amish but sold in the regular chain grocery stores. When I tried getting angel food cake at home in AZ, it has never been anywhere close to that.
ОтветитьWait wait. I can say no to Social Security?!
ОтветитьDoes anybody know more about the Amish in Bolívia?
ОтветитьAnd the Amish are not that good of people
ОтветитьI'll wager...you never seen Amish driving a buggy with a cell phone in their face.
ОтветитьTo be honest i like the simple life style
ОтветитьThey are a cult period!!!!! It all stinks. I don't care if that is their belief. Calling me english is taken as an insult. I am an American. Don't try to justify their behavior.. I leave judgment to God.
ОтветитьChristians who actually understand that Jesus was a socialist. Who would have thought.
ОтветитьI grew up in northern Mexico and lived in a state where there’s Mennonite colonies but no Amish, in some of the times I visited my old hometown we’ve seen what we thought were Mennonites but looked a lot more like the image most people have of the Amish so we wondered if they were becoming more conservative in dress or there’s actual Amish arriving at the place.
ОтветитьWatching this I'm suddenly realizing how much of my upbringing was essentially Amish. Basically 100% that flavor of Amish-adjacent Evangelical Christian you mentioned near the end, with a specific emphasis on importance of adult Baptism and a view of the Catholic practice of baby baptizing as "not real Christianity".
Weird.
They should be concerned with the genetic pool.
ОтветитьThey sound a lot like Haredim
ОтветитьSomething a lot of people don’t understand about the Amish is that it’s more of an ethnoreligious group than a standard denomination. Conversion is extremely rare, and Amish itself isn’t really a religion (that would be anabaptism). It’s a community, one of msny
ОтветитьAnd how do I say no to social security?
Ответитьvery sad
ОтветитьThey say yes to running horses into the ground
ОтветитьWhy are there SO many branches of Christianity? Is it the same for other religions?
Ответитьtheir food is delicious
ОтветитьI must show respect for putting the sponsor at the end . Watch to the end instead of skipping if atleast this once😅
ОтветитьI didn't read a comment mentioning this: Rumspringa aka Rumspringer is (not a official) word for someone who is jumping around. "Rum springen" is gemran and means "to jump around".
PS: I know in dhe video it is explained with walk around
They should write an Amish romance novel where she finds the perfect guy but then she finds out he's trans and learns to accept him, they have to deal with the judgemental, religious community that banishes them but then realizes they made a mistake because WW3 happens and they have bigger problems to deal with.
ОтветитьI was impressed that "Lancaster" was pronounced correctly, then he said he grew up one county over. "Ah, that makes sense."
ОтветитьAmish horses are often horribly treated. Like they are tools not sentient beings.
ОтветитьGerhold Land
ОтветитьI thought you were ian from smosh for a second
ОтветитьVery informative. Excellent presentation
ОтветитьThey need JESUS. He's supposed to be first ALWAYS in their lives. But they follow men rules. And men's rules on how they should live. What's NOT in God's word is NOT any rule of GOD'S. Get an English written Bible. And check out what JESUS says about salvation. They are good people, trapped in an ancient CULT.
ОтветитьIf there was one thing I could recommend they do it's to adopt kids from outside the community. Their genetics is a problem, there would be amazing hybrid vigor if they brought in some outside ethnicities brought up with their values/culture.
ОтветитьThey love running puppy mills. Which are horrible for dogs.
ОтветитьThey don’t shower when they are travel
ОтветитьI can respect that.
ОтветитьThe way they fight education is reprehensible. They want to make sure their children have no choice but to stay in the community
ОтветитьI grew up in central pa and the Amish dairy farmers and produce farmers produce the the best fruits, vegetables, meats, milk and cheeses. It’s nice to be able to go to the local Amish store and get all the stuff that has none of the extra added bs they don’t believe in. They also make beautiful wood furniture.
ОтветитьEvangelicals are so hopelessly pathetic that it’s actually laughable
ОтветитьFascinating and fact-filled video, thank you! It's also a reminder that the notion of America as some kind of monolithic "Christian nation" is total nonsense. We're home to the mainstream, the fringe, the accepted and the rejected, the majority and the minority... all equal. E Pluribus Unum. The Amish do their own thing based on their own rules, and cohabitate with the communities around them, and vary from one locality to another. The same goes for the believers of many religions, the many warring denominations and sub-denominations thereof, the individual believers and non-believers. We are open to all who are willing to peacefully coexist, and may it long remain so. Just say "no" to the current political theocracy, and "yes" to a robust nation based on respect for all citizens in their private faith, or no faith. Amen! (P.S. A special shout-out to William Penn, who allowed those who thought other than himself into his Quaker state... a rarity for his time, but a good sign for America's future.)
ОтветитьOnly bad thing is that women don’t shave down.
