The Bible says in Acts 20 v 35 that it’s better to give than to receive. Sounds like the science has caught up .
ОтветитьA real joy for me comes from living life in concert with my values and doing actions that are meaningful and purposeful. And yes, shopping for unnecessary stuff is not joyful.
ОтветитьThis was a very inspiring video to watch. Every one who sees this comment, try and share this video, more people should see it. Thank you 🙏 have a great rest of your day
ОтветитьI have been finding joy... actually ecstasy... in creating or discovering new distinctions through which I perceive and interact with my world. I find this creation/discovery joy far longer lasting and more intense than the joy of owning stuff. I think distinctions are an economy that can replace money (but that's a different conversation...) A new distinction allows me to navigate better either inside of myself, for example, to notice if I am experiencing a 'feeling' (which comes up, I use the information and energy to do or not do or change something, and then the experience goes away entirely in 3-5 minutes) or am I experiencing an 'emotion' (which comes up, feels just like a feeling at first - angry, sad, glad, or scared - but it does not go away. It hangs around in my experience for an hour, a day... a week... and therefore has nothing to do with the experience that stimulated it!) Distinguishing a feeling from an emotion is amazingly liberating, because feelings are for handling things, and emotions are for healing things! This experiential distinction (as well as thousands of others) could be taught in school and creates so much tremendously powerful happiness that I could write about it for hours, but I will stop here.
ОтветитьI'm a Bodger, which means I turn wood on a Pole-lathe (treadle operated). I make parts for chairs and I then assemble the chairs. The whole operation gives me great pleasure, especially when I finish the chair, a pleasure far greater than that I get from buying anything.
ОтветитьGiving my rabbit his dinner sparks joy. He loves to eat, and I love watching him eat.

ОтветитьPlay with may baby makes me hapy!!
ОтветитьConnecting in a meaningful way with people I don't know sparks joy for me.
ОтветитьPeople actually need to be told this?
ОтветитьThe kid and the dog make one great point together; overall, a very good video.
Ответить8 pillars of joy: compassion; acceptance; generosity; forgiveness; humility; gratitude; humor; perspective! Insight thanks to Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu.
ОтветитьQuite a few things make me happy, including what you mentioned in the video, giving and helping people. Helping out someone less privileged than me really puts a spring in my step. Another thing that makes me happy is being with friends and family. I was a part of a group discussion on if pop culture brings happiness or if it's just noise, and what I thought was while pop culture and stuff in general usually only creates short-lasting happiness like you described, it can also create a subject for discussion, like Pokemon or a favourite book, and these shared interests can help create friends, and give company, which also creates real joy.
ОтветитьI feel attacked
ОтветитьIn our "shallow world", buying stuff makes for "short term" happiness. Face it, people are bored which is why you see them on social media. The millennials have no passion and no interests. I feel so sorry for them.
ОтветитьThis is a very good video, the message was sharp and right to the point. Even though we have heard some variations of this message before, but in this video it was presented very tastefully and refreshing. This video have encapsulated few different messages into one brand NEW focused message. WELL DONE! EXCELLENT!

ОтветитьI came to this vid by googling "Marie Condo", so I expected some stuff organizing advice, but I got life organizing advice!
ОтветитьBuying things itself doesn‘t make us happy, but because our entire life consists of producing commodities, all our human relationships and everything we do (including everything that can make us happy) is mediated through the acquisition of commodities,
Marx calls this the commodity fetish, saying that because we live to produce them, we essentially become commodities ourselves, our commodities become humanized and our human relationships commodified. You can‘t escape it.
I tried to give a completely new %100 cashmere beanie to a homeless in Germany, she refused it.😄she did not accept it because she said she has too many stuffs to carry. Does this spark joy? 😄 I think before donating something, I had to ask her if she needs anything.
Ответитьyou are amazing !!
ОтветитьI'm going to give a baby Yoda. To make someone very happy Indeed.
