VTC P.40 – We Got Squiggles!

It’s (still) vacuum tube computer or bust!
We’re going hard on the UE1 and the Bendix G15 until the end of the year. I want both of those machines executing code. The G15 is already mighty close, but the UE1 needs a boat load of work still. In the previous episode we built a motor for our photodiode block and it actually pulls tape through surprisingly well. But just pulling tape through isn’t going to cut it, we gotta be able to read it. There’s a surprising amount of work left to be done before we’re ready to read bits in, but rest easy, I aint quitting until we see squiggly lines on the scope in this episode!
