I remember renting this movie specifically so I could watch it on my 23rd birthday.

The movie industry tried to convince us that we were all enemies and cruel Americans were in every small town. It was a satanic lie.

One of my favorite guilty pleasure movies.

I think his best performance was in A SOLDIER OF ORANGE. But truthfully, Rutgers Hauer was excellent in every role.

I don't know if he used not only his incredibly excellent acting skills, but also his color blindness in this film. I mean, he could actually see, except for colors. His IMDb information didn't say what kind of color blindness he had, since there are several different versions of that too.
But may he rest in peace and I hope he's doing well on the other side. And now I feel like watching Blind Fury and Lady Hawk again. Both are wonderful films. Blind Fury is also a bit underrated, although I think it's really good. Even though this one has a pretty traditional action-packed story formula, it doesn't bother me. However, there's also humor in this one, and apparently he also used his mime skills, because I read from his information that he's also done pantomime at one times in the early days of his career. He's one of those gems that aren't many in the film world. Diamond in the rough. :)

So THAT had to be the lamest movie Rutger Hauer ever made. SHEESH.

Rutger Hauer was one of those who may have been in bad movies, but he was never bad in them. He is seriously missed.
