Ответитьi think the graphics looked great during each iteration, but i think the atari style would make it stand out the most but unfortunately may make it harder to have good environmental details and clarity
ОтветитьYou should make a hardcore and a demon mode. Maybe make a demonic flower for demon mode and an evil flower for hardcore mode. (If you consider the idea.) And what website did you use for the pixel art?
Ответить@Goodgis recently learn of a concept called wave function collapse ... its kinda like can be used to generate randomised infinite world with set of rules like where which block goes ..... just in case i have tried using in my pygame just simply to experiment with genrating platform game very basic one and its good

ОтветитьThe effects in this game are absolutely amazing! I use Godot myself and am only capable of some really bad effects :P
I also think that background brightness increase was a huge way to make it look nicer in a small period of time!
This game looks really promising, if it releases on Switch/whatever-the-heck-is-nintendos-next-system, I might buy it day 1!

the map for example can use the tab button and the i button alongide the m button, the tab and i thing is actually something that hollow knight uses (at least tab) which is helpful because the tab is closer to your hands while playing so it's easier to access
oh yeah right, i don't know if dewdrop already has that but would be cool if you released the demo on itch as well
it's kinda annoying to have to open steam for something that feels like it wouldn't 100% require it, idk i don't like to use it a lot and maybe some people are like me so yeah, also might get you some traction from itch so that people will go to wishlist it
idk man i don't think silksong is gonna come out soon, maybe late next year on the earliest
(man i hope it works on my pc, at least as hollow knight did, i don't want it to pull a will of the wisps on me (will of the wisps has vastly higher system requirements than and the blind forest))

can you upload the sprite sheets of the game alongside area sprites and such when you finish the game ???
as help for the people who want to use already made sprites as a tool to remake a preexisting game for learning purposes
i started recently doing so to a childhood game of mine called "captain claw"
(it was easy to get the sprites but it wasn't that great as they werent equally spaced out but i got some help from people that are fans of the game and took like 5 days to get a version pretty much working somewhat well, this is a different topic but i wanted to say it)
and i think dewdrop might be a game i'd have fun recreating the mechanics of it too (let's ignore that ever since i got the sprites of claw somewhat working i didn't open the project but yeah xD)
looks great tbh, i will totally buy this when it releases

ОтветитьFor the bonsai beetle boss fight, you should add a little warning before the TNT blows up :D It would help people anticipate how big the explosions will be

Ответитьi think the old graphics are superior, the new ones are nice and all, but the old ones look more.... aesthetically pleasing, they were reminiscent of old games for MS-DOS, which is a style that i think more people should emulate, i think the new graphics (while pretty in their own way) just looks too modern for my taste (plus T H E G L O W)

The dev fund has already doubled over the past week thanks to unity. I imagine this is gonna supercharge the engine's future development.
Dude, i played the demo, and i got a lot of things to say.
-1: one of the giggest issues i had was that you couldn't dodge right after you shoot, so game doesn't feel responsive and you end up felling like you took damage for no reason.
-2 the bird enemy is really anoing to hit, since you can't shoot in every direction(wich i like) you can hardly hit the berd, so when keeps getting closer, you can't really hit him
-3 the snake rat enemy has too much presicion(at least in my opinion) só when you get hit by the venom, you get slighly knocked back, and get hit right after because moved towards you and you couldn't escape.
-4 the Last one is that i think your ammo should recharge imedeatly, Just like celeste. The parkour ends up being slowed down a lot, and its really annoing when you hit the groud, the enemy is charging at you, and you have to wait for your ammo to reload whithout being abble to do anything
Don't get me wrong, i really liked the game, but these things really hindered my enjoyment. I hope you are doing well, and i hope the game ends up being great
Is it just me or is the demo boss way too hard for the first boss of the game? This is coming from someone who has done hollow knight godhome ending
