To be completely honest, I did not know much about Yayoi Kusama before my trip. I did some research and learned that I had loved and seen her work before all over social media, but never knew her story. She has used art since a very young age to combat the demons she faces everyday dealing with her mental illnesses. I have so much respect for her as an artists and enjoyed being immersed into her art. It is amazing to think that she is 90 years old and is still creating art today. The exhibition will be open until early June, if you are in Shanghai or visiting you must see it!
