Palm oil , however, is the ONLY one responsible for tropical deforestation. So there would be no need to bring the others up anyway.

The problem is manufacturers sneak it into products like Christmas puddings toothpaste make up and people don’t check ingredients as they are busy so it will only be stopped by public pressure and boycotting these manufacturers as governments yield to lobby money to ignore the problem whilst imposing easier climate control on the rest of us

The use of crude palm oil (CPO) for biodiesel production can contribute to an increase in food prices. As CPO is a key ingredient in many food products, diverting a significant portion of it to biodiesel production reduces its availability for food use. This creates supply constraints, leading to higher prices for palm oil and other edible oils, which can ripple through the global food market. Additionally, increased demand for palm oil in energy markets can drive up land prices and encourage deforestation, further affecting food supply and prices. Thus, while biodiesel supports renewable energy goals, it can have unintended economic impacts on food security, especially in countries reliant on palm oil imports.

So what is the alternative?

Oh that's right, NONE. Palm oil uses about 1/10th of land compared to ANY other plant-based oil on the planet.

The effort should goes to HOW to make palm oil sustainable, not banning them. In fact banning did quite the opposite, as it palm oil exited the European and American Market, it will flooded to Asian, specifically China which gives zero damn about sustainability.

I make my own toothpaste 🦷 with coconut oil (I make myself with the fruit) and baking soda. I can tell the baking soda is not indispensable. It is also a great personal deodorant, in which case the baking soda is needed! I avoid hair products now so that after my last wash my hair has basically been clean as hair products weight it down and because it is curly I get it wet sometimes to get tightened curls. I have not used soap for bathing since 2017.

I use only palm oil & olive oil. Ur quest for Uranium destroys our underwater ways, ur exploitation for lithium to run ur electric cars destroys the environment far more than planting palms, ur ships & ur industries pollute far more than planting palms but u will never complain about these cos they sustain ur economies & ur lifestyle. Then u jump to our own interest to condemn. U want to make us dependent on u for ur cancerous oils. We shall use palm oil forever.

More hysteria and hype from the chicken littles. I remember back in grade school in the late 80s where they told me there would be no Brazilian rainforest left and "OH! how they're cutting it all down for cattle farms, those ignorant peasants!!!! Just give US, the enlightened liberal NGOs money, and the forests will be saved!". Yeah fast forward, and what happened? The Brazilian rainforest is still there, it's fine. Turns out these NGOs bitching about Brazil were trying to dupe us Americans into attacking Brazil and shutting down Brazilian beef production. They were probably funded by big american agribusiness conglomerates who were VERY threatened by the then nascent Brazilian agriculture. Nowadays Brazilian beef production is thriving, and feeds millions of people. And guess what.....there's actually MORE Brazilian rainforest TODAY than there was in 1989. So screech "sky is falling! sky is falling!" again, but you're not fooling me with this dupe shit. Liberals and their NGOs want everyone but themselves to be broke, sick and dead. They want forced poverty so they can keep their cheap slaves. Liberals and democrats have always been addicted to their slaves!

Save rain Forest : "make good relationship with Indonesia", do not hinder the progress of Indonesia to become a super developed country

because for so long you have enjoyed our tropical forests as the lungs of the world but you often hurt us and are happy when we are underdeveloped, so we reduce our tropical forests so that you all die from the heat, go away

Sunflowers oil plantations in Europe much more worse, why you don't lift that issue? See no more forest in Europe. For as I know sunflower absorb less carbon and release less oxygen due to its small size.

Having said deforestation in Indonesia why European doesn't rebuild their lost forest?

What no one seems to realize is that there is not enough land in the tropics to provide palm oil products for right billion people.
It took the annihilation of the indo Malayan rain forest to make that clear. All of the worlds tropical forests are being destroyed mainly today for palm oil. And it's still not enough.
Yet strangely enough the world got along just fine without the stuff.
Most of Indonesia's palm exports were going to India and Pakistan to make laundry detergent last I heard.

There isn't enough land in the tropics to fill the world's demand for oil palm. There just isn't.
We need to find something to replace it with asap.
The amount of deforestation in the lowlands in Indonesia and Malaysia is not to be believed. And it's getting worse.
Malaysia no longer has any forested areas large enough to support the larger animals once common there. The elephants, rhinos, tapirs , orangutans , clouded leopards, leopards, etc are all rapidly dying out there. Rhinos in fact ARE extinct there. The villain was palm oil plantations that replaced their habitat.
I do not know why it is so widely used. It's not good for you, and it's not like we can't make all this snack food and soap without it. We can. And should. They can keep that crap.

The world devotes more than 300 million hectares for oilcrop production. Palm oil accounts for 6% of this land use, which is small when we consider that it produces 36% of the oil.
We can compare crops in terms of their yields – how much oil we can produce from one hectare of land. This comparison is shown in the chart. Palm oil stands out immediately. It achieves a much higher yield than the alternatives. From each hectare of land, you can produce about 2.8 tonnes of palm oil. That’s around four times higher than alternatives such as sunflower or rapeseed oil (where you get about 0.7 tonnes per hectare); and 10 to 15 times higher than popular alternatives such as coconut or groundnut oil (where you get 0.2 tonnes per hectare).

1 hectare of palm produces 12 hectares of soybean oil.
That makes Europe unable to compete because their land can only be planted with soybeans.
