He didnt want a divorce bc that was still looked down on then. I bet his wife, his/her parents would have been livid if he got a divorce. He knew chicks liked to be with a doc. So he wanted to be free to play mult women at the same time, and be a playboy.

MacDonald was right (in his mind) about one thing. There were four intruders in the house that night. His wife, his two daughters, and his unborn third child (Colette was pregnant). Intruding on MacDonald's dream life that is.

What really sealed it for me was in the book "Fatal Vision," after he moves to California, he starts on all the beautiful women he was seeing and what INCREDIBLE sex he was having. He just went on and on about it. Wasn't the time nor the place!

This scumbag was his own worst enemy. Why would he refuse to give his in-laws the full story or even any real details but he goes on TV like he's now a celebrity and cracks jokes at such an awful event? There's something not right about him. Mr. Cavett and Mr. Stevenson were right on the ball with their observations.

By the way, two things that convince me, besides me having read Fatal Vision 2× and seeing countless documentaries on him, are 1, his panicked discouragement of Freddy Kassab to come down to North Carolina to get a transcript of the Article 32 hearing(which Freddy was able to get from the Army, I believe, in 1971, thankfully)and his bogus assertion that he and one of his Green Beret buddies had tracked down one of the "killers" and killed them. Jeff did this just to placate and pacify Freddy. Which, if I recall, he actually later on, even admitted to Freddy that he lied. Also, in Fatal Vision, when Freddy finally DOES get a copy of the Article 32 transcript, he goes through it with a fine tooth comb and makes notes of probably 10,000 inconsistent statements, etc. that Jeffrey made. And that's not even the tip of the iceberg
