Make a chest plate with the aluminum bronze. Or the tin bronze using Cu88%+Sn12% or try to recreate Orichalcum. I've used a different ratio and have tried to recreate it my self. Made a small knife. However I do not believe I got it correct. So ill give you the composition I made and see if you want to tinker with it. Fe 5%+ Ni 5%+Cu 55%+ Zn 35% + Pb 3% and a small amount of charcoal which was said to give it a carbon content making it stronger. But was unsure of the amount.
ОтветитьHey man I’m making a belt buckle for Halloween but it’s out of 3mm mild steel. Would appreciate any beginner advice. Basically just need to slightly dome it
ОтветитьHmm I don’t how I’ll create a decent one 😂 need to make like those in the shoulders, neck and hips of Zendaya’s 2018 Met Gala, but anyone knows where I could go to order or have some customised pieces? I just don’t know what they’re called. Junk shop, hobby shop? Please help 😂
ОтветитьThat was cool. Thank you 👍🏻
ОтветитьANGER MANAGEMENT 101 :-)
ОтветитьYea the stump hole has to b smooth in the bole or it will leave a crimp in the steel or aluminum it has to b as smooth as possible use a small air grinder with a small 2inch head and grind it all smooth in the bowl then oil it with wood preserve and it will b great.
Ответитьhow did you cut your circle
ОтветитьHello Sir! I received a stainless steel WOK for free. Its Round and I used it on my electric stove. I got a Deadblow hammer and made flat in the middle so it gets hotter but I cant get the major bumps out of it it works just some areas are hotter and the oil pools there. How would you go about making it flat? I live in an apartment dont have access to major equipment! Thanks!!
ОтветитьGet your hands on a old oxygen bottle cut the top off and use the bottom for a stump just put foam inside or it will ring like a bell
ОтветитьFiberglass looks like butt! 🤣
ОтветитьHow were the bacon and eggs?
ОтветитьA two minute video in 19 minutes great! I wasted my time.
ОтветитьIt all starts with the dishing stump.
Ответитьactual hammering starts at 8.27 circa
ОтветитьIf you want to shrink a trunk you only need to dry it out. It will shrink a little... 😜
ОтветитьHe sounds exactly like Skallagrim, I wonder if he knows how to make pummels
ОтветитьCould you do it with a beer can?
ОтветитьYou're a dad, aren't you?
ОтветитьI'm a wannabe metalsmith, and I've just learned more from you than I've learned thus far from that expensive metal-forming book I bought! Thank you for your simple approach to a complicated subject.
ОтветитьПашок, по русски говори, пж
ОтветитьU talk too much
ОтветитьIf I ever need an ash tray, I’m glad I got a hammer and a license plate.
Ответитьyou're kinda funny...🤔
ОтветитьTalk too much
ОтветитьI think what you are doing is called "Sinking". Which is stretching. If you continue to work it in a way where the edges start coming to gather, that is "raising". Specifically "Synclastic Raising". Which at that point, shrinking would fit as a description.
ОтветитьPLEASE!!!
Talk less, work more.
What aluminum alloy were you whacking? I can't imagine this working with a harder temper like 6061 T-6. Pick your poison first is really important, try 3033-O.
ОтветитьHey Fred, why are you using your stump when you have a big leather bag. with shot?
ОтветитьSuper
Ответить"Used it for driving punches. Not the tool for the job." That second sentence wasn't really referencing the first but it's absolutely true. You'll be better off if you don't use a framing hammer for metal work of any kind.
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьWhat the hell is wrong with you?
ОтветитьI love you dude you’re freaking awesome
ОтветитьWhy make a video about stuff you know nothing about?
ОтветитьReally stretched the video .
ОтветитьI think peen hammer is best for the job
ОтветитьUses 3D printed dies and a press to shape it easily.
ОтветитьThis man who doesn't possess the coordination of a drunken chimpanzee is surely the man who can teach me how to shape plant. continues watching
ОтветитьInformative! Thank you:)
ОтветитьI'm one of the fools who polishes their hammer frequently... er...
Anyhow, I occasionally do this sort of thing with silver for jewellery I make. Any imperfection in the hammer has to be sanded and buffed out later, and I'm lazy. With a polished hammer I can skip most of the sanding/polishing stages. But if you are after texture, a purposefully bumpy hammer is also a great piece of kit.
cause who's finish his proyects? jasjjas
ОтветитьPerfect
ОтветитьAn excellent video and content but please do not talk at all. Just do it.
Way too much talking and explaining. One video clip is worth a 1000 words.
Same info was repeated multiple times. No one learns by talking or listening only by seeing the action. Thank you for great content!
Like Sherlock Holmes said, "Once you have eliminated all the lumps, what remains must be smooth." You know, the actual quote by Doyle is dumb. How would you eliminate EVERY impossibility? That would literally take forever.
ОтветитьAll this talk of whacking reminds me of this autobody shop I went to once when I lived in NYC. The whole place was run by Italians and I was amazed anything got done because every time I was over, they'd be sitting around a table at the back of the shop playing cards.
But everyone I talked to said these were the guys to go to when you needed to get something done.
Aside from that, do you know if copper is easier to cold shape than aluminum or if aluminum's easier, assuming both sheets are of the same gauge?
