Elvis is the Greatest of All Time, hands down!! Baz was great, as well as, Bruce S. Ernst J., Darlene L., etc. Great comments! Unfortunately, Billy Smith was, once again, overlooked. That's Prissy's doing. Thank you Netflix!
As usual, Prissy in it still spouting her lies and distortions on how she met Elvis. After his discharge, he seldom called her in Germany. Even after he was "blackmailed" in to marrying her by her father, they spent most of their time apart. She has no shame as she brought her boyfriend that she was having affair with to the '68 Comeback Special! She was the first to break their wedding vows about 6 weeks after giving birth. Sorry to see Prissy's best friend, Jerry S. in the documentary. He worked for Elvis from Fall '64 - 1967 and then quit. He came back in the 70s. He holds himself out to be Elvis' confidant, but that's not true. That role, I think, really went to Larry G. I can't wait until we can move forward without both of them.

He said: 'Elvis sorta opened the door for and gave you an allowance to be who you actually are'.
Then, my heart crumbled.
A beautiful tribute given. ❤️

This was really good but remember Elvis had some hidden gems during the lean years. Two of my favorites are “Mine” from 1967 and “Down in the Alley” from 1966

Pity that they incorrectly stated in the end credits the number of concerts he gave after he returned to live performances after the '68 Special before he died in '77, which they gave as 361. Nonsense. He gave well in excess of 1000+ concerts during those last years!

Not without his flaws but a beautiful, kind and gentle soul summarised by all those that knew him best. The mix of vulnerability and charisma was potent. He was under confident and always felt lucky, which made him dutiful and subservient to the Colonel and Hollywood.

Tom Parker was a greedy tyrant who wanted to turn Elvis into a circus sideshow. He didn't care about Elvis, not the way Elvis cared about him.
It was all about the $ for CTP.
I feel sad for Elvis. He wasn't happy a lot of the time, especially when he was made to star in those trashy movies.

I have just finish to watch this very informative documentary, but one thing struck out! and it's the figure at the end where it's claimed that Elvis performed around 360 concerts from 1969 to 1977? That must be a mistake. I have always heard that he played more than 1000 concerts in that period!

I love Elvis. I just find it so interesting he was allowed to be a pedophile. Priscilla was 13 yrs old and he groomed her. But apparently some gifted “gods” can do whatever they want. Hhhmm????? Interesting study in sociology, Hhmm maybe Combs thought he was allowed as well ???

The Elvis legacy is truly. Mind boggling. Drug addicted pedophile, yet. We all love him. It portrays a belief , if you have skills of entertaining and money , you literally can do whatever you want, and I honestly am an Elvis fan, yet. ???? As for frank sinatra Boo boo. He wouldn’t be relevant at all in today’s world. What im saying is simple. Elvis was a charming intelligent talented character that maintained his coolness by opiates and cocaine and being surrounded by people he was giving money. Conclusion. He was our first manufactured superstar musician. Truth is. He’s a spoiled brat

So sad he did not live long enough to recognize the love from millions - I have heard he often said "I wonder if I will be remembered" - how could he not - there was never a man more beautiful, more talented, more deserving than Elvis Aaron Presley - he was a genius who led the world in a new direction - not just music, but behavior, dress, dance - even presidents admired him. Now, 47 years after his death, we are still celebrating his life.

“Elvis Presley is the world’s top male vocalist (poll by New Musical Express - May 1968) : there's never been any fall for Elvis. Let's rather wonder why Steve Binder's work with Elvis remains the main show Steve Binder is still asked to talk and write about so many years later (like many other very talented people who had the luck to cross the road of Elvis)

« I don’ know where this boy’s capabilities end » Producer Doug Laurence in April 1968 ; in 1969 Elvis was recording his legendary session with Chips Moman due to Marty Lacker who was working with Chips. Elvis made his legendary 69 concerts in Vegas due to Bill Miller who had admired Elvis in Vegas 1956. The 68 special is one TV show in an amazing career which was very far from « being in the toilet »in '68 as Binder very wrongly thought.
