This is a great scene! Why on earth didn't they include it on the show?
ОтветитьI would love a show on him.
ОтветитьGood to see he has a sense of humor.
ОтветитьI wonder if they cut this out because they realised they'd forgotten to put his contacts in! LOL
ОтветитьHe is hot af, but what horrible thing to say to any woman
ОтветитьWhy the fuck they dont put this show in netflix ?
ОтветитьPart of me can't help but wonder if Quinlan is pointing her towards the option of motherhood since he himself wants to have a family but can't. Like, he's pointing someone else towards the goal that he would take if he could.
ОтветитьWhyyyy Gullermo del Toro??
ОтветитьLove this, except if it would've been used, they would need to add to it, and elaborate more on what Quinlan says, as he actually has a rich & unique view of motherhood that is barely hinted at here. He mentions that it is a noble destiny, but his reply, "the female of the species", almost seems contradictory to what he truly knows. Quinlan knows from experience that a mother is much more than just biological, as the mother who gave him his direction in life, prepared him for it, and gave her life (made sure that he "drank her" even though he didn't want to) to ensure he would survive when his father trapped them, was not his biological mother - but a "true" mother. The writers had an excellent opportunity to have Quinlan eloquently and strenuously enlighten Dutch about what his view of motherhood is. He is literally telling Dutch to do what his true (non-biological) mother did for him - provided him with a "vital role of repopulating the Earth". (Even though Quinlan did not actually reproduce, he greatly contributed to it with everything he did. If his mother would not have rescued and taught him of his origins, how to speak, and told him about his destiny, then he would've been in captivity his entire life, which would've been a thousand years of hell.
ОтветитьOf course Dutch overlooks that to the Born being able to have a family would be a wonderful thing. Especially b/c he can’t play any role in creating new life.
ОтветитьThis scene was phenomenal! Why the hell take it out?!
ОтветитьIf I were him I'd have said nooo but you are supposed to be dumb cunt. Never liked her Character at all.
ОтветитьQuinlan's respect for motherhood and admiration of women's labor could've made for a really beautiful and stand out scene or theme within the show, I just don't think it is written with grace here. Just finished bingeing the show and although he comes off quite cold speaking so monotone and carrying the aura he does, it's easy to see he's an empathetic being and has gained great wisdom from living between humanity and the vampires. Motherhood is absolutely a beautiful, magical, important thing, but if we're going to look at it from such a cold, biological perspective, aside from some women indeed not being fit to be mothers, Quin is old enough to know the population is probably going to flourish and continue way more gracefully with less folks to share limited resources with... Dutch is someone Fet cares about, Q wasn't going to disrespect her like that after never getting to know her in the first place, this scene was cut for all the right reasons. Dutch is going to be important to the regrowth and repair of human society, but having kids doesn't have to be the way she contributes, as great as creating life is there are other great roles she is better suited for.
Ответитьisla puting bato
ОтветитьI'm sure he was comparing her to his adopted mother when he said that not everyone is a mother
ОтветитьI hated Dutch
ОтветитьHe was this show...the only character, aside from maybe the nazi villain, that I gave a shit about...
ОтветитьI love him as quinlan 😂
ОтветитьWhich Episode is this?
