It's not that there isn't enough people combating anti-woke grifts. It's like every progressive issues, there isn't enough money for cohesive, organized front. Trying to do the right thing seems always an uphill battle.
ОтветитьI didn’t think anyone still used the term ‘SJW’ but here we are
ОтветитьI unfortunately have a college professor that parrots anti-woke talking points. Well, that's what I get when I'm enrolled to a Catholic School.
ОтветитьCan you make a parody of these grift videos, like you made for Cinemasins with Beremy?
ОтветитьI wish these people would stop using all these dog whistles just so they can be called out for their racism without them trying to project in onto us.
ОтветитьIf Ripley were introduced today, thr anti-woke crowd would be raging about her.
“She’s always right!”
“Everyone around her dies stupidly!”
“All the white men are either evil or subordinate to her!”
“You mean she went into the alien hive on her own with a duct taped rifle-flamethrower and soloed thr alien queen when the rough n hard space marines all got destroyed?? Mary sue!”
Anytime you ask somebody to define woke, they will either A. get upset that someone is asking them to define it, or B. Say something like, “Oh, you know. You know what it means.” They don’t ever want to define it because they will out themselves.
ОтветитьI absolutely love the way you mock "tHe mEsSaGe" in your videos. it's spot on and hilarious.
ОтветитьI'm know I'm late as hell to this video, but buddy points are pointless as hell😂 and you got a subscriber
ОтветитьMiles is my favorite version of Spider-Man ❤
ОтветитьGod I hate the critical drinker everything with him is woke this woke that WTF are you talking about??
ОтветитьBro I don’t what this series is gonna be but I’m 9000% for it
Ответить"But they're poorly written" is the biggest red flag when discussing characters, because I've seen it used for decades now. Are they actually poorly written, or are you ignoring nuance and confirming your own biases? It's rarely worth the headache.
ОтветитьBecause being a whiny bitch about minorities online wasn't nearly as lucrative as it is now in the 70's and 2000's...
ОтветитьOmg amazing arguments, I mean their facts really! Love the content. I'm sick and tired of these "wOkE bAD" idiots
ОтветитьPart of what broke me out of the “anti-SJW” grift was seeing how people reacted to Watch_Dogs 2.
Cause before I thought “no one has a problem with POC characters, we just don’t like raceswapping established ones! Just make new diverse characters!”
But then I saw the same people who claim they believe that losing their mind and whining that WD2 had a black protagonist who was a completely new character. Before they even knew anything about his character or writing
Why do the griffers never actually know the source material or understand historical cultural context?
ОтветитьHonestly, I think we should just embrace the word Woke - since the rightwing grifters will insist on using it against us no matter what we do, we might as well take it as a compliment.
Yes, I am a person who values an awareness of social injustice in the form of bigotry and specifically racism, and I strive to address this injustice where I can. Thank you for noticing.
your voice is like butter sir
ОтветитьSarah Connor being held up as one of the examples of "well-written" female characters that these clowns claim are acceptable is especially hilarious to me. Yes, as this video points out, her portrayal in T2 in general is like anathema to these guys (if it wasn't in a movie that they first experienced as children).
But more specifically, I'm thinking of the scene where she confronts Miles Dyson. She breaks in on and attempts to kill a happy, loving, family man for something he will eventually do in the future (and not a malicious thing at that, just something that turned out horribly). And even after she's stopped from doing so, SHE then lectures HIM (as he's tending to grievous wounds in front of his terrified family), lumps him in with "fucking men" who "created the hydrogen bomb" and says he'll never understand how to truly create life like women do.
Can you IMAGINE the reaction that would get from the grifter crowd if it took place in a modern movie? The ONLY reason they put Sarah in their (comically small) list of "see? We like WELL-WRITTEN female/minority characters!!!!!!!!" is because they liked T2 as kids, and therefore it's immune to their "woke culture war!" nonsense alarms. The movie and the character are otherwise full of things they absolutely hate. (See also: Older X-Men, Star Trek, Doctor Who, etc., etc., etc. It's only "woke" or "political" if they don't have a pre-existing love for it).
Peter Parker is Spider-Man. Miles Morales is Spider-Man. If you're going to insist on calling the latter Miles, you should insist on calling the former Peter.
It's not like as soon as a president leaves office and becomes a former president, the previous former presidents are no longer former presidents.
...Well, not usually.
Genuine question, What are your thoughts on Star Wars: Acolyte?
ОтветитьI think it's more that corporations are using political correctness as a shield. If you take that horrible Robocop remake from 2014 and put a black guy in it, you can call any criticism from white people "racist", despite it just being a bad film. I personally don't like corporations trying to get away with making bad content and using social justice as a shield or using it to so they don't have to risk as much on a new story, it's the same as them remaking the same franchises over and over. I'm not going to say you're correct or wrong, but I do think your perspective is different to mine and I'd be happy to discuss it with you.
ОтветитьBro Miles was created in 2011, why do people think he's a woke character
ОтветитьI have a genuine question! Was the whole "Get woke go broke" propaganda a thing back then as well but disguised in a different veil? Or is this a more recent thing?
ОтветитьYeah every single time people claim they aren't misogynistic, or blatantly hating a woman's part in a movie, or a man replaced with a woman, they always go "But Ripley from Alien." PERFECT video dude. Shit, I never noticed it before.
ОтветитьI just knew that "but Ripley Alien" always seemed off as a response
ОтветитьDidn’t the first movie for Miles display a perfectly capable Peter Parker who was killed in combat? So why did he only point out the alternate universes version of Peter for his point?
ОтветитьSo glad that I found your channel! 💪🏾🙌🏾
ОтветитьThey're doing this for the new Avatar series too. "I can't believe Avatar has gone woke". Give me a break. I can't even fathom how much those people clearly never watched the original series or are doing Olympic level reaching to argue that AtLA, which contains zero white people and literally starts with Katara yelling at Sokka for being sexist, isn't woke.
ОтветитьGod this needs more views
ОтветитьI agree with some of your points, especially the bit about the word "woke" and the bit about the yaske backlash being poorly founded. You do make a bunch of assumptions, then base parts of your argument on those assumptions (ex. Person said x, but they really mean y, and because y then z). Do take this constructively, though. I think there are some legitimate grievances here.
ОтветитьIt’s like the trailer for the new naughty dog game they see a lady with a shaved head and then go crazy
ОтветитьGood video
ОтветитьI still remember, as a Whovian, when I first went to Twitter around 2019 and learned how the at the time newly Thirteenth Doctor got backlash because she was a woman and how her team of companions got backlash because two of them were people of color.
It was misogynistic and racist bullshit that was quickly thinly veiled by using what now are common dogwhistles such as "bad writing". I'm not sure whether those were new back then, I perceived them as such because there were actually badly written aspects about the Chibnall era but you couldn't dare to voice that because your genuine opinion and criticisms would then be taken by these grifters as "proof" that they're right and pull my criticisms out of context and abuse them for their racism and misogyny.
Never let th3m rewrite history. Ripley was always a male character that was cast as a women. Shes the prototype too all their woke nightmares but they'll never critically think.
ОтветитьHonestly, getting a brief introduction to the actual history behind the phrase “woke” was the coolest part of this video.
ОтветитьSpider-Dad is not burned out looser. He is a DAD. With a Toddler.
If any normal parents will look disheveled when having a toddler; Imagine having one who can run against gravity, bent crowbars out of curiosity, and throw a two door fridge through the wall just because they don't like their dino nuggies. MJ is in No Way qualified nor capable to wrangle such toddler. She'll be broken in so many places just because little May want some more cookies.
Not to mention, as I recall, at that point in the story they, MJ and Peter, don't really know if Mayday in her growth won't suddenly morphed into Man-Spider, like Peter did. MJ in won't be able to handle Mayday if she suddenly grows four more limbs, six more eyes, grows chelicerae, and has a sudden urge to liquefy and slurp human insides. Also, little spiders eat their mums.
Don't insult actual parrots, they actually understand way more than grifters
Ответить@Th3Birdman you rock I like your style and how you explain things
ОтветитьI am 57. I am sure that if we had social media in the 70s and 80s when I was a kid, I would have zero self-esteem. As well as never getting anything done, of course.
ОтветитьI would say Lando was more about the betraying Han Solo then racism but I will not deny at least at least the sizeable portion of it was racism
ОтветитьThank you for this.
ОтветитьAlso:
Miles Morales is Spider-Man. ❤
I am a nerd. How the fuck has the culture gone from what now would be called woke to just plain racist.
Ответитьthe number of people who didn't understand that Billy Dee Williams isn't actually Lando Calrissian shows that media literacy was dead long before social media.
