Hello everyone, after excruciating pain of 1 week more than 8 hours a day trying to get this working, I finally able to figure out wtf is going on. First of all if you are using 3G/4G/5G cellular internet, you are most likely to get f*cked. What happens is to be able to Open Ports for Port Forwarding you need a Public IP. There is something called CG NAT, which prevents you to have Public IP on cellular connection. This steps bellow assume that you already open your Port Forwarding on your modem.
1st Solution, try ask for Public IP from your cellular provider. Chance of you getting this is really low, so I would proceed to the next problem.
2nd Solution. There is a way to bypass this CG NAT problem, by using VPN like PureVPN. I only know of this single VPN being able to do the Port Forwarding, but at an extra cost. I think it cost around $13 monthly, or $6 monthly if you choose the 2 year plan + Port Forwarding and dedicated IP. So yea, you get a public IP with port forwarding, but at the expense at you have to pay that really high price, not to say you have to pay the electricity bill for your pc as well.
3rd Solution, rent a Virtual Private Server with Windows on it, typically with 4 Cores and higher. It will cost around $16 or something monthly, but you don't have to do anything. You don't even have to have a good PC, just good enough to access the server, install the Pi Node, and the server will run 24 7.
4th Solution, the one I'm currently using, I paid $1 a month to open a Linux VPS (1Core 1GB RAM 10GB SSD), which has Public IP and Port Forwarding capability. What is different is just I have to setup my own VPN (Wireguard). Basically I make a VPN server on the VPS, make a setup on my Node PC as VPN client, setup the tunneling, and in the end I got a Public IP with Port Forwarding capability. This, despite only costing $1 a month, is the most painful thing to do if someone is not tech literate. Legit I spent around 20 hours talking with ChatGPT, trying every single steps possible, and after all those pain it worked out.
I live in Germany, so electricity bill is like $0.50 per KwH, based on my calculation it would cost me around $9 a month to run my PC as Pi Node. If I were to take the PureVPN route, I would be at $15 per month, but that is VPN is too unreliable to do, so I decide to not go forward with it. If I didn't have old laptop lying around I would just rent a windows VPS and run the Pi Node there and there would be no need to pay for anything but just the €16 monthly cost. Hope you guys have a good luck!
I followed the same steps. I am having trouble with the ports working but the node is running and my mining rate is boosted. Just turned on the node. I think you will see your mining rate boosted.
ОтветитьSame problem with me
ОтветитьDid you finally get a solution to this problem? facing same issue
ОтветитьFIX!!!
After setting up your router and Windows OS to open the specific ports you have to:
1. Install Pure VPN
2. Add Port Forwarding Add-On ($13 for 2 years)
3. Activate ports 31400 - 31409 in Pure VPN online profile
4. Connect to a server in US on the Pure VPN app (it has to be US)
5. Retest nodes on Pi Node app
DONE!
same problem...
