The Romans arrived and left mid 1st century BC. They return mid 1st century and stay until the 5th. .

I found this history to be very interesting. A couple years back I found some family genealogy that went back to London. Apparently they weren't poor since Sir George Barnes II and III were both Lord Mayor's of London as well as at least one Daniel Gorsuch a mercer merchant of London and his son John Gorsuch with a Dr of Divinty. And then William Lovelace the poet is stuck in there. Very much enjoyed the history of London

If I had the knowledge that I have now? I would start by building a criminal empire. Use my men and ill gotten gains to create an independent city state. Give my troops a few modern inventions. I would have crude firearms, simple steam engines, and teach them modern tactics. (The ones i remember anyways).
I would create steam ships. Rebirth the Roman empire, and conquer the entire world. Then give up dictatorship. SPQR! FOR THE GLORY OF ROME!

WOW!! Amazing doc. It's so sad to hear these stories. Power and the way things are done in societies have not changed much. Although we are a bit more civilized regarding human rights, so many of these ideas are still embedded in our system. No church for me; it has so much dark history.

Jews were expelled from England in 1290 and didn't return until the mid 1600's. Not many law suits during the medieval period I daresay.

I'm more of a Tudor girl. I am generally only interested in very late Medieval as a setup to the Tudors, and I specifically enjoy things about royalty and nobility. I do searches specifically for Dr Eleanor Janega. If she is teaching it, I am watching it. I have become quite an informed novice of things Medieval and peasant. Thank you, Dr!❤ It's fun getting to know more and become interested about an era I previously found boring. I really love it now ❤
