GREW UP ON THE ISLAND. JUMPED OFF THE ROCK AT WAIMEA MANY MANY TIMES. MANY PEOPLE CALL IT PARADISE. I LEARNED EARLY ON THE SCENERY IS INEDIBLE AND THE ISLAND IS VERY SMALL. THE MAINLAND HAS BEEN GOOD TO ME AND FOR ME. I MAKE MY HOME IN NORTHEAST NEVADA

Behind the mission church lives Kanakas, who use their yards for parking with a charge of 10 bucks. Everytime I go waimea I park over there, it's always good to support the natives 💯

How early do you suggest I get there to get good parking spot

Some times there’s summer swells that can kill you so be careful

Ahhh v. nostalgic as my first time to Waimea was Dec. 1973 as I was just a 20 year of college kid from Connecticut that knew v. little!
Today is Nov. '22 and I am 69 "freezing here in Conn.- but I will always remember Hawaii in a v. good way- you all enjoy it all while your there!

It seems we need to pay the entrance fee to the beach park, right? thanks!

What do you do with your keys and backpack if you’re out swimming? I’ve heard the car break-ins and theft of items on the beach is an issue.

And don’t forget the tunnel through the rock. As I recall, it’s about 2/3 of the way out.

Great video and overview. I am surfing North Shore for the first time on Friday. Always been a dream to ride the best of Hawaii and now I shall!

Just wrapped up a day at north shore and sunset beach. Waves were awesome but only about 10-15ft off shore. Still looked way too dangerous for my first surfing attempt lol
