Sans doute pas l'un de ses meilleurs rôles, mais quel engagement non feint...quelle sensualité émotionnelle...!Une splendide inteprétation qu'il convient de saluer...Merci à WeicheWotan pour cette pubication.
ОтветитьShe was a lirico-spinto soprano. She did not force her mid-weight lyric voice but used her natural ability to sing dramatic roles. She was one of the best Lady Macbeths, as well. You can't sound so dramatic and sing more than 40 years by forcing your voice...
Ответитьi like this much than maria's version. gencer's voice was more suitable to Aida's tenderness. soft, dramatic, powerful, ut not forced..though i am fond of maria too.
ОтветитьWhy do you say Leyla Gencer's singing, "while sometimes vocally imperfect". I do not agree with your statement at all! She was one of the best sopranos in the music history...
ОтветитьWish she was singing these days!
Ответитьhiç ilgilenmediğim bir sanat dalı ama etkilendim..
Ответитьgencer was the first one i heard this aria from and i immediately loved it. i may opt for tebaldi as my favorite but gencer's subtlety in rendition still moves me. if only she kept her arms down at times :)
ОтветитьMarvelous BRAVA!!!!!
Ответитьthe DİVA
ОтветитьIn terms of expression, emotion and artistry it almost can't get any better than this.
Not only she had one of the best voices of the 20th century, she also was an incredibly charismatic woman with a dramatic acting ability.
This is an incredibly inadequate performance--both vocally and in acting. In terms of the latter: does Gencer know how to do anything besides wave her arms? And why does she keep looking at the conductor or the prompter or some part of the Arena? This is NOT an anguished woman, speaking to the gods and to herself.
And vocally: she sings "Amor fatal" as if it's just another part of the aria! This is the KEY to the entire opera. This woman is trapped. These words need to be sung with deep despair. Gencer's performance is superficial.
Listen to Maria Callas' live performance from Covent Garden in 1953: you will never be able to listen to another version of this aria (including others by Callas).
Legit! 💓💓
ОтветитьStupenda voce artista assoluta ci ha regalato emozioni indimenticabili.
ОтветитьLa ricchezza di armonici aiutava a questa voce calda, metallica e squillante a superare l'orchestra senza nessun problema. Bravissima.
ОтветитьThanks ....this is a jewel!! She's amazing...
ОтветитьWhat a set!

ОтветитьLeyla Gencer SUPERBA MERAVIGLIOSA ARTISTA!!!
Grazie Leyla Gencer artista sublime tanto amata quanto fortunatamente per me ammirata!!!
I thought the opening sounded much better than Gencer then it turned out to be Cossottos Amneris.
ОтветитьThe singing, rather good. The acting, rather bad. She's trying but it doesn't work... 😁
ОтветитьSeldom seen and heard such an intensive true emotion since Callas …brava Regina
ОтветитьLeyla Gencer was a magnificent singer! No one today can shine her shoes.
Magnificent
In my world there is room for many great singers and Gencer is one of them for sure. Her pathos ............
ОтветитьGencer was criticized because of her insistence on using “coupe de glotte “. I find it very dramatic effective. Simionato and Callas used it too, but not so often. Voice teachers in modern times are very much against, as it may affect the voice quality if misused. Gencer was intelligent enough to know how to use it , when necessary.
Ответить💚 Aida🌾
ОтветитьToll gesungen, aber ganz schön aufgetakelt für eine Sklavin-was sie doch ist-oder nicht?!
ОтветитьShe can make strong men cry.....😢What a fantastic artist! Never boring always - true....lucky audience!
