The fact that they both independently decided to troll Danny for content and then had to explain to Danny that they were obviously trolling Danny for content was peak Danny. Much moreso than being peak Vidit or Anish.

The format is perfect for both of these players, I believe peak ding would destroy gukesh, but he probably won’t be himself at the wc

They might have just jinxed Gukesh.

In form Ding has a strong argument to be the third best player in the last decade, but he is so far from form it pains me. His pre pandemic performances had him line up to be the next to challenge Magnus. He was beating out Fabi and hikaru engine lines with pure calculation. He just had a 100 game unbeaten streak, his elo in the last few years was top 3 and as Fabi was on a little dip Ding took world second place with confidence.
