great review, based on this review I bought the cx410w. I am very satisfied with the camera but the only thing I miss is that there is no option to switch the camera on or off based on my presence, this is only possible via a fixed schedule but this varies daily so it is quite difficult to set

will Wifi (this camera) camera connect to Reolink NVR? that would be dream come true!

Do I need some kind of Home hub like Eufy for this camera?
Or I can download the clips from the app through the camera directly?

my main question is can you read licence plates between 10-16 metres (that is your side / other side of the street approx)? i was recommended reolink in general as it is with more options (higher bandwidth, FPS). i tried out imou bullet 3 and tapo 320ws, and in practice i was unable to pick out licence plates unless they were close and head on, like in your distance test. if they not head on, it becomes a mush from the way too strong video compression. this whole stuff really caught me off guard as i thought numberplates would be an important thing. i need to catch 40ton semi trucks coming into our street witch is completely off limits for them, to make the authorities do something cos they give a sh..

I recently purchased this, but I can’t seem to get the screws off the back of it to put the SD card in. Do you know any shortcuts of how to do this? They’re super tight.

Like ALL Reolink wired WiFI cameras these are network disasters. Life Hacker does not tell how deadly that Ethernet set up is. What is a Wi-Fi camera doing with a mandatory Ethernet setup? QR codes in this day and age? Really poor.

In four out of four cameras of different models they all stumbled and lost the Wi-Fi network configuration. With Reolink customer service unhelpful and unpleasant they all went back except the most expensive too late to return model which became an uncompensated boat anchor. These cameras are old POE models with added 3 generation behind Wi-Fi chips that cannot be used to configure. Who wants to take them down to recover from network dropouts (and why does it forget Wi-Fi configuration?). The app is pathetic. These are ding not voice noticed upon reset but no variation can configure by Wi-Fi. A firmware disaster of mismatched features. Let’s have Life Hacker give the full story.

My CX410W night vision is utterly crap compared to Blink outdoor. It's very grainy and ghosty. Im going to try their 4K version and also the tracking style camera, and if it doesn't improve I'm onto some other brand. Night vision reminds me of some junk from best buy 15 years ago. Thx for the vids! I do love the motion sensing of the 410. Blink is terrible at this function.

Maybe it is me...but when they make a WiFi version, I don't think people will have a place for the mass of wires they have coming off the back of the camera, between the ethernet, reset and power plug. Just makes them hard to mount and look nice.

Purchase 3 of these 2 CX410, 1 CX410W. They have excellent night vision, especially if you have a street light.

The problem is that they all 3 constantly record, parked vehicles as moving flagging as "Any Motion" not as a "Vehicle."

So, there isn't a setting to reduce sensitivity on "Any Motion".

This fills a 64GB SD card fast.

I appreciate you saying what you telling us what you see when out in the yard. I was curious if criminals would be able to see the camera at night if it had a spot light or something and you explained it.

I LOVE this camera but I just wish the sound quality was better. I'm going to run a CAT6 cable to mine, do you need the antenna's even though I won't be using the wifi? Would be nice to take them off once the ethernet cable is plugged in.

I seem to be jumping from one ecosystem recommenced here to the next, also recommended here. Can someone please recommend if Reolink is the one to go with for a mixture of wireless (ABMBIENT light efficient) and wired? Mostly wireless. Not real happy with Eufy at the moment.

Does the camera work with the cloud?

Can I set this camera up without a smartphone and instead with my laptop. I ask because I only have a prepaid cell-phone that I rarely use WiFi internet on that prepaid phone.

How does it handle IR-lights? Does it see into the IR-spectrum, might there even be an IR-cut filter in the camera?

Dumb question, do I need to connect an ethernet cable to this even if I’m using wifi connection?

Hi I love your videos, you are doing this properly. I have a question - I bought some Wyze V3s but I am having connection issues with the wifi, the clips are slow to load and the video is choppy and unreliable. Moving the thing closer to the wifi router is not possible and I really don't want to do ethernet so I'm wondering if a model like this one with the larger antennaes maybe would help. Have you done any testing on wifi ranges on any models? I can't find anything on this.

I would please ask you, to refer or comment on your reviews if the cameras send a notification when offline, i.e. in a power outage, or if switched off. My Tapos do not, and I wonder if any of them do. Thank you.

Nice Cam but I need my rich notifications so I can see if it's worth opening at that point or not. ( Tree moving....cat walking around) My 20 dollar wyze gives me that and my wyze sees at night perfect....and my wyze is the smallest camera out of all of them. I have my wi-fi NVR with 4 cx410w and 1 trackmix wifi. The trackmix is farther away from the NVR but I noticed that it has full wifi signal and the cx410 w only has 1 bar you think you could find out and give me an update on why this is happening I did send a message to reolink but they never answer back thank you for all of your videos they have been really helpful

As usual, another great review. I'm finally at the point of wanting to replace my NEST cameras and I think this might be it. There is a lot to like about this camera. And for the cost of a 1 year subscription to NEST AWARE it pretty much covers the cost of the reolink NVR.

One comment on the audio that I'm hoping you can suggest to all of the camera manufactures: If you listen to the THUNDER sounds whenever the wind is blowing it is super annoying. And it would be so simple for them to somewhat fix by applying a simple audio filter (in software) to remove all frequencies below 120Hz. Feel free to ask me for more info on this if you like.

Also, can you clarify one thing for me. If I have the Reolink NVR can I view the live and recorded footage from my office computer's browser? Or is it limited to just mobile devices?

Can you test the maximum wifi distances. I have a pretty long yard and aluminum siding on my house, i am having trouble finding cameras that get a strong enough signal for the back.

What is the purpose of the sd card? If the camera gets stolen and you don’t have a nvr then you lost all footage correct?

Do I have to connect this to some power outlet outside? I mean that can be difficult?
