they did a good job but its not the original, that 0.1 procent feeling is missing. timing seems off thats why we dont have really good comedians nowadays.

The real Stan is shorter than real Ollie. Real Ollie's jacket is shorter than remake Ollie's jacket length. Other than that , they are about the same.

John Riley and Steve Coogan were just incredible in this.

Rosie O'Donnell would've also made a great Oliver Hardy.

I could say they're not spot on, but that would be nitpicking of course... try and imitate it, it's really hard..

It's a great performance from both Coogan and Reilly, but I can't help noticing that the original has a looseness to it that they weren't able to replicate.
Although it was still a stellar performance from both.

It almost feels like what we're seeing in black-and-white is what the public is meant to see on film and what we're seeing for the colorized modern version is what everybody in the studio was watching, they had to constantly rehearse and practice until they got as good as what is shown in the Black and White movie. It's almost like a right-sided them practicing the left side of them filming

They created the characters perfectly size weight height features. Dancing and acting style. Amazing. These two should make a new laurel and Hardy series

Laurel and Hardy are my favourite (to say the least) comedians i've ever seen all my life. I remember as a kid i was under a spell every time i heard the iconic music intro. I am still whistle this tune, and its been my ringtone for ages. When i saw this movie it was an instant time machine that brought me back to my childhood again. But the very best part of it. Its not a shame to say that i've cried 2-3 times when watching it, especially at the end. Both of them were something like fatherly figures for me as a child, i still think of them as my uncles or granfathers. I believe that many if not all of you feel the same. I want to congratulate every single one who's involved in this wonderful movie about the two most loveable, descent and funny comedians ever lived in the face of this planet. I am literally on tears right now watching this again.. Brilliant!

Love the movie tribute but you can clearly see that the real Laurel and Hardy were so much more smooth and natural as if they were one mind, body and soul. They can communicate as one.

Good effort but they're lacking those all-essential smiles :)

All these comments about this movie it was a tribute to the actual Laurel and Hardy John and Steve did a awesome job if you watch the movie you'll understand you're all criticizing the movie these guys did a awesome job portraying Laurel and Hardy

This is not a remake this is a true story of what happened it's a tribute to the actual Laurel and Hardy it's like a documentary so as not to be a John and Steve did awesome job portraying as Laurel and Hardy so everybody needs to quit being butthurt

Nothing can top the original, but these two did a fantastic and faithful redo. 👍

The originals smile more

They need to loosen up a little bit. It seems obvious they were trying to mimick a choreographed dance rather than be in the moment. It could be because the actors are older than Laurel & Hardy were when this orignally filmed? The reason this stands out so much is because they're so close to nailing it; little bit of a back handed compliment I know. They're like 95% of the way there and its for sure the best we have! It's brilliant, I was just happy to see the tribute:)

I was AMAZED at how well the two managed to capture the vibes of the original Laurel and Hardy so closely. I can't look at Coogan without seeing Stan Laurel now!

what one man has done another can do, but why?

I saw an old video of this is your life, featuring Laurel and Hardy. Every time the announcer would bring on someone that knew or a family member of either one the other would stand up and also smile and greet them just like family. I could tell how close they were just like family. This was the first time I had seen anything about their personal lives. This made me like them even more than before and I already thought they were fantastic. Still a big fan after all these years.

I don't know, Reilly and Coogan almost seem like they're winging it a bit. Stan and Ollie put a lot more energy into the routine.

Stan Laurel was one of the greatest talents of his day. Didn't even have to say a word, just a look, and you were already laughing.

Reilly and Coogan should both have won Oscars. Wonderful interpretation from both.
