My issue with so much for marketing is that the main way they make money is word of mouth. If it’s truly good that will make them a billion. If it sucks with audiences it will make a ton the first weekend and not so much after. You have to spend to market but not that much. Do they not have enough confidence on the legs

Name a great Actor(Actress)? Most are celebrities, personalities, etc... but very few are actually good at the craft of Acting.

You are correct sir. Johnson is always the same, bland, aloof and devoid of energy. Perhaps she’s a lovely person in real life but whomever encouraged her to pursue acting was probably just being too kind. All these landmark things are CGI used for social media marketing. They're not spending 250 million on marketing. They didn't even do a super bowl ad when they already had a spectacular trailer ready from December.

The lost world is the most underrated jurassic park film in my opinion and deserves more love i absolutely love it myself its one of my favourites of the franchise along side the original would say rebirth could potentially make my top 3 if it delivers the goods which I'm very confident it might do just that

WBD/DC Studios are now showing what their actual hopes for Superman are. They're not OK with a modest box office with high critic and audience ratings. High ratings so they can rehabilitate what the DCEU garnered is likely the primary objective, but they for sure also want that box office to be massive. The key thing about that is they are willing to make less profit (or a loss) to get that big turn out, so the most people possible will come and see their quality.

A large marketing campaign was to ve expected, but they are willing to go beyond even that to get butts in seats; and they can do so because they believe they have a wide appeal hit.

Before that was clear, the expectation was probably A+ cinema score, 90%+ positive critic ratings and $500-650M returns, but they're marketing with hopes for A+ cinema score, 90%+ positive critic ratings and $900M-$1.2B return hopes. I personally see it getting $800M+ as long as it is good to the majority, but I would not be surprised if it passed $1B.

Here's the trick though, they are willing to throw extra marketing budget and make less profit overall to get to their higher box office because they know a segment of gen pop and fans only equate big box office with quality, even though it's not that simple. It's to the point that in a lot of people's minds some of their most beloved franchises (Wick, Mad Max, etc.) are thought of as higher money makers than they are. To tick all the boxes that will make their future films more successful, they want to be able to tell the world they have massive interest evidenced by the turnout, and can deliver a great product, evidenced by the ratings.

How to Train Your Dragon was much better than expected. Ever watch Merlin with Sam Neil? It had that kind of vibe. But it was about Hiccup instead. It also reminded me of D&D the movie. Well balanced and the ending was well thought. 9/10.
