Blomkamp, was too nice about it! Alien 3 & resurrection need undoing!!! Such a shame his film was axed, judging by his previous work the CGI would have been mind blowing.

My five cents is that this version should've been Alien ³, not the actual.

It would be very nice to see something like this materialize, but having it released now would only serve as fan service... which I'm all for! Though timeline-wise, everything would be a bit screwy.

In an interview that Weaver gave, she did state that she would be happy to reprise her role as Ripley and continue in the franchise, going through to 'Alien 5', and commented that the 'action' between Humans and Aliens, would more than likely, take place on Earth (as mentioned in this video).

Despite any criticism that Alien Resurrection recieved, it did manage to being the franchise back on track and kept the door open for the continuation of the story, with some of the final scenes intriguingly poised, with the 'Betty' spaceship, hovering above the Earths atmosphere...

I think the alien exosuit would be jumping the shark. way too obvious, way too gimmicky.

Wish there is more Blomkamp cinema or shorts (not a gamer).

Plot twist: alien Romulus aborted Aliens too

Things went down the drain after "Aliens". I stand with Bloomkamp on this.

Coming back to pay homage to the greatest Alien move since Aliens that never happened. In the wake of the disappointing Alien Romulus, it's saddening to see all things good die out or never happen, while the mediocre is thriving.

Some kind of tower where the rich are literally feeding the poor to the aliens to become even richer. aliens if you will but with 50% more in your face social commentary rather as subtle as the corporate greed of the alien and yeah literal corporate bloodsucker of aliens is subtle to me these days because actual reality seems to surpass that fiction for quite a while now.

what a frustrating look at what could've been. Romulus was a fun back to basics, but this movie would've have been a trip and so much more satisfying. Yes, i think seeing it in some form would be great.

IMO this was the biggest loss to the franchise, what the series has been lacking is an experience young director with his own vision who works within the theme of this style of film. Who isn’t afraid to make an adult film. Hopefully alien earth will be good

This is such a shame, This never came to fruition. I hate that Ridley Scott put his thumb down on the development of this film. I was so happy that Neil Blomkamp was going to bring back Michael Biehn as Hicks and Neil Blomkamp would have done such a great job. I always thought Sharlto copey could have been the new synthetic in this entry, considering his history with Copey on all his previous films and at least an appearance by Lance Henrikson in some capacity and felt Amy Smart would have been great as an adult Newt if they wouldn't have brought back Carrie Henn.

Fuck the "Engineers", long live the Space Jockey. Long live Aliens: Apocalypse.

I wish they would have went ahead and did this! It was an amazing project that could've helped put an end to the need for more of Ripleys legacy. The continuation of the story could've moved onto even more projects and concepts, but they buried this gem in space somewhere. We may never know how epic this could've been. Thank you for sharing your Alien theory. At least we have you to dig deep into this franchise. I do know you have been a saving grace to my addiction to this extraordinary tale.

I don’t even like Aliens. They abandoned the horror genre they started with and went for cheap action and tired cliches. It certainly hasn’t aged well, at least for me since I’m not nostalgia-blind.

Romulus was excellent and perfectly combined action and horror, and maintained the retro tech aesthetic of the first film that the prequels abandoned.

I get the hate but I do kind of love Alien 3 in a lot of ways lol but even with that being said, I would drop that from "canon' to get this movie.

That alien bio suit looks so dumb it’s no wonder the film wasn’t made. 😂

I think that Ridley Scott just keeps making Alien movies to deliberately keep Blomkamp's movie or movies from being made! I think Ridley Scott's best movies are long behind him and he should retire!

Unfortunately, I think this movie will never be made, but like you said it would make a killer illustrated book! It would sell like hot cakes for sure!

I always find it sad that so much work went into the pre-production to find out that it will never be produced.

Just wanted to say that the missle melting scene probably shows the missiles warheads contained a weaponized version of facehuggers which could be launched at enemies and cause mayhem

That should have happened. Alien 3, took a turn & was great I thought. I must admit, that in the beginning, my heart dropped when Hicks & Newt wasn't going to be part of the franchise any longer. That disappointed me. None the less, Alien 3 did surprise me.
