Hey my middle fan of that same rtx 3090 strix stopped working. Anyone sent it back under warranty? How long would it take? I'm considering if it is worth doing so over me getting the parts so I can minimise the downtime.

Ohh man...Dell has gotten worse on their build quality....shame...I have had a few of those tower style servers/workstations and they were built like a tank!

I heard these GPUs are a real pain in the butt, the cooler is not efficient enough for being used outside a server case, they overheat quite easily without proper airflow :$

That would make a very good PLEX media server. Just drop an old 1060 6gb or anything as good or better.

HAHA I did the same thing bought one of these because it was cheaper than buying them alone. Free computer. Luckily I got mine before Christmas. I am running 3 out of the case with external power supply. Has 5 slots

If you have enough lanes and full slots you could do a big 3060 rev 1 build using x8 riser cards ;)

Good deal, I got mine in mid January. I spent a bit more and got a 10 core version to turn into a Proxmox server. Bought some more RAM and a dual NIC on eBay to save compared to what Dell charged. Working great for running my VMs and doing some IT training with. As for the A4000s they do run hot for sure. To help with temps I repasted the GPU core and added some paste between the bracket covering the VRAM and tiny heatsink. I also put 0.5mm washers on the back for a bit more mounting pressure. It was working great with a fan blowing on them.

However they started getting hot again, maybe I had the bad MX-5 batch that got recalled. Put them in an ATX case with 4000 RPM fans and they are doing ok now. Either way I ordered some PNY 3060 coolers that are compatible with the A4000 layout from Aliexpress for ~$80 a piece. It will take a month or more to arrive and kinda pricey, but I'll take way better cooling with spring and summer approaching.

Well played Mike, good buy I reckon! I might keep the Dell as a video exporting PC, but take the a4000's and mine with them elsewhere - unless you're planning to start animating your videos in 3D for the Metaverse going forward 😅 I don't think you'll need those 2 a4000's for to export otherwise.

what even are those cards ? were they specifically designed for mining ? i've never seen them advertised on nvidia's website
