There's so much to say about this subject. But first, I want to commend you on your work: the before and after pictures is just like the icing on the cake, but the research, the traveling, the effort you put in all this is priceless. Then, we cannot ignore how providing the context AND even the names of the soldiers, makes this so real to us. Last, but not least, are the lessons we can get. It is so sad to see how these kids got involved in a fight that was not really theirs. Also, your choice of the music is brilliant. So nostalgic to see how life goes by and we all cease to exist one way or the other. But we cannot end in such a sad note. We have the greatest hope: When the Desire of Ages will return soon to put a definitive end to all this senseless suffering: our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Thank you, again, for your great work!!! ❤👍🫶👍❤
Very good, well presented, thanks
ОтветитьI come from a long line of veterans my father and uncle both WWII VET'S myself I am a Desert Storm veteran. I appreciate your videos. Thank you for your time putting this together.
Ответитьlooking at the planet now I am not so sure the forces or evil lost. Time is saying otherwise
ОтветитьWhen i see these before and after pictures i wonder how many of these people in them survived the war.
ОтветитьAmazing research. Thank you.
ОтветитьI have read/watched a fair bit about the D-Day landing and how the British 2nd Army (UK/Canada) took so long to capture Caen, about 2 months. How the Americans disparaged Monty. How they accused him of not taking the initiative and push earlier.
Then I read about the Americans on the right flank. They seemed to face lesser resistance from the Germans.
The Americans had nearly 2,500 tanks/TDs in Operation Cobra, facing a German force of 190 tanks/assault guns.
WTF didn't the Americans push westward earlier?
Amazing work brother. New subscriber . thank you so much
ОтветитьA awful lot of people just don't know how and to what extent those kids were conditioned to fight and kill. I can only imagine there was only hate and an almost limitless drive to kill the enemy. But, think of the fear towards Germans that was installed in the minds of the rest of Europe, occupied or not... The same thing also applied to the German mind. Add a sauce of racist ideology and supremacism, and the cocktail becomes very deadly...
Ответитьgreat production
ОтветитьYour unbiased style, combined with your humanity is truly unique...
ОтветитьThey were kids. Who are you to label them evil?
ОтветитьHello, this was such an outstanding presentation of history. I watch all of the "then/now" videos, and these longer stories are riveting. WW2 was well before my time, and as an American, I do not condone the SS or Nazi cause. But after watching this video, I looked up more details on Klaus Schuh. Schuh was killed in action on June 26, 1944. He was 18.
The young men and women of both sides have to carry out the policies of their leaders.
Hopefully, someday, we will know the end of war.
Ciao bellissimo documentario....puoi darmi delle dritte su dove reperire foto del panther ausf A late n.326 della pz. Hj..in quanto voglioo creare un diorama ...grazie mille
ОтветитьBeeindruckendes, aber auch sehr bedrückendes Video. Wie glücklich dürfen wir sein, diese Zeit nicht erlebt haben zu müssen!
ОтветитьI like the information you provided. It makes the video seem closer.
ОтветитьFascinating and really thought provoking in the way you keep re-showing the original photos
ОтветитьThe French Foreign Legion taked a lot captured German soldiers in their ranks.
To fight other wars in Vietnam and Algeria.
Man this week and I just found a gold treasure of a channel! Can’t wait to get back to Germany!
ОтветитьHistory is written by the victors. All parties in WW2 are guilty of war crimes. The British leading in the European theatre with their indiscriminate bombing of German cities killing close to a million German civilians many of whom were children.
ОтветитьThe spelling of the CC is deplorable. Why??
ОтветитьYour English and pronunciation is disgraceful! Have blocked your channel, so no need for any response. Incidentally, PEOPLE are NOT hung they are hanged, only dead bodies are hung!
ОтветитьI was in Normandy as an 8 year old kid with my parents. My father lived through WW2 as a child and reguarly told about his memories. In Normandy we went to see the bunkers and beaches where he bought me and my brother this book about WW2 and in it was the very same picture you're showing 1st in this video, I remember it vividly because the shade on the SS-er's eyes scared the hell out of me, still an impressive picture. I wonder if it is known who the man is/was.
ОтветитьGreat job on those photos and videos
Youve really brought the reality of it to light with the then and now
Also, your commentary really gets the point across about it all
What is the name of the place, I want to visit, I am from Peru
ОтветитьFunny how the thumbnail says how evil was defeated yet the Americans won. Here we are 80 years later killing 10s of millions of babies, men are dressing as women and we support all these proxy wars when millions die.
ОтветитьFabulous….Really atmospheric. Thank you.
ОтветитьMany thanks from Barcelona
ОтветитьEvil? bro get real. Maple monkeys forever coping.
ОтветитьTodos eran personas también fueran los q fueran mucha muerta mis respetos para todas personas q perdieron su vida
ОтветитьMis más respetos para la segunda guerra mundial todos los que murieron de todos los mandos
ОтветитьEnjoyed the video. Thanks for bring to life some of the pictures. Oh the power of propaganda, and youth.
ОтветитьAmazing presentation, Well done and thank you.
ОтветитьExtremely well done. The photo technology, the names, bios and stories, really, next-level. Kudos from Berlin!
ОтветитьI like the bird’s eye view break down of the battle. Sometimes it’s hard to understand what exactly is happening in a battle. This was very illuminating
ОтветитьA great brief mate, although I am struggling to find any sympathy for the soldiers of the Hitlerjugend. The 12th committed war crimes and were unrepentant Nazis.
ОтветитьViewing these old film reels, it's so humbling to see these soldiers of both sides being robbed of their young lives. Some of the German & allied infantry facial expressions make them look a lot older than they actually are, the horror & lived experiences from all involved, you can see the toll etched on the faces. And it's no surprise really is it!
ОтветитьIsn't it something that Germany basically started two World Wars. My Dad was in Pattons Army ,starting his duty in North Africa, and eventually all the way to Germany. RIP .
ОтветитьReally enjoyed the video . Keep up the good work 😊.
ОтветитьSensacional trabalho !👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
ОтветитьYes, they were brainwashed. The Bible is clear about “ train up a child in the way he should go, and when he’s older, he will not depart from it“ proverbs 22 verse6. That is why the Hitler youth program was very powerful.
Pointing out facts is not being sympathetic I love your videos❤
Excellent video and commentary . I toured that area of Normandy in 2017 concentrating on the Canadian advance and seeing the places in those historic photos was surreal.
ОтветитьThank you Canada and Britain for your heroic service. An American.
Ответить“How was your childhood?”
ОтветитьJust watched this video all i can say is wow, amazing to think that wall still stands .And those photos taken there,,,,,Amazing...
Just subscribed as well,,,,,,great videos
My father was a decorated Waffen SS soldier. A Flak Gunner, in the Tenth Panzer Division Frundsberg, who saw fighting in both Russia and Normandy. Shot in the stomach, and saved by an America MD, found himself as a prisoner of war in the U.S. As a POW, drove lorries across America, particularly in the Northern states, thus whilst filling up his lorry at a gas station in Helena, Montana met my Ma, who was serving at a takeaway nearby .... The rest is history.
ОтветитьI have to stop watching your videos, because I just burst into tears 😭😭😭😭😭 every picture brings to life a different battle that was so Bravely fought and won 😭😭😭😭 so grateful for the greatest generation, much respect to all 🙏💝. Never , ever forget what they did for humanity 😭😭😭😭 Love and Gratitude from a Gen Z 🪖🫡🪖💞💐
ОтветитьI'm agraid the Killer - caption goes for every Army in war... Aside the eastern front where no side was innocent. On the western front either. With English troops having a better record. Aside the undenieable actions by certain Waffen SS and few Wehrmacht troops, summary execution of surendered Germann soldiers was a thing of US, Canadian and some French troops. And they each killed much, much more Germans tha other way round.
It can be checked in Pattons and other US generals war diaries, where they wrote about "hopinxg to conceal this"!
Who is the Killer then?
Evil?! They were 16-17-18-year-olds who followed their commanders' orders dude.
