Even tho by definition this video is a vlog, I would enjoy this channel ever so slightly more if it was just called ed ricker or something about tech/reviews bc some people may be turned off by the name bc they think it's just another vlog channel or that there is no vlogs at all to go along with the name. I am personally against vlogs bc they are fake and extremely stripped down to give a false image of how a person lives, and I also just find the content boring and bland. I absolutely love your tech reviews and demos and experiments but vlogs, not so much. And the thing is, you don't post those stereotypical vlogs so I feel the name is a little misleading. However I don't mind those little tid bits in videos of driving places etc, but full on days of just dragging a camera around and picking and choosing what your audience gets to see of your life to give off a false image for the viewers to follow bothers me. But idk. Keep doing what u are doing bc I am really enjoying it. Just not the name. 😀 (and thanks for reading)

Great explanation, Ed! Most of us have limited time and we like to watch videos that are informative while at the same time enjoyable. I think your videos achieve both. Thanks for all your contributions, especially for the drone related videos.

great talk Ed, i agree with you 100% on this as well.
especially how frustrating in can be when you bust ass to capture your day and get the story involved for your viewer. i think if I made 2000 plus a video i might take more time setting up my camera in 3rd person shots. lol

I enjoyed your discussion defining a "vlog" re broadly than the "day in-the-life" style. Your content is interesting and variable.Casey Neistat was fun for a while but he became very predictable and almost contrived. Keep up the great work . . . in your own unique style!

You call it "vlog" or no matter what. As long as I, as a viewer, can find myself in what is told or shown to me... that's great.

Hey Ed, I'm definitely not 'younger generation' (sadly!) but I am a very experienced 52 year old Videographer/Producer/Director and a Mavic Pro flyer (that's how I found you) and personally, I don't care what people want to call them... To me, your videos are informative, entertaining and sometimes, like this one, thought provoking... but most of all, they are always fun to watch and as a result I look forward to each new one. Keep up the good work and if you're ever looking for a 'guest collaborator' with some amazing drone locations on his doorstep, drop me a line!

There is a reason why I avoid Casey N. Vlogs. I am only here for the educational material. I could care less about what people ate that day. Stepping through the App 4 menu items would be great. Why do white objects show up red? Thermal? And what the best way to balance the Mavic gimbal? Thanks

I like to categorize your videos as "Good Shit." Call it whatever you want but at the end of the day your videos are entertaining whether they are truly vlogs or not.

people who blog about pointless day to day garbage is like people who snap pictures of food just because they went out to eat. Neither adds educational value or entertainment.

Your videos are always enjoyable, although I'm kind of a meat and potatoes kind of person, I usually skip to the parts I like/relate to.

I've long since come to the conclusion that my life is just not that interesting to show what I do every day, so I try and make my vlogs more interesting and varied.

Mr Ed Ricker, The reason i like your,call them what you want vlogs or whatever is you are a true professional at what you do, and i feel you do connect with us with all your awesome videos,even the ones without drones are really professional made . you definitely have your 10,000 hours in.

Hey man, great video. I struggle as a creator because I want to grow my channel, but at the same time, I'm afraid that people won't subscribe because the subject of my content is too broad. I post a lot of drone stuff, photography related stuff, a few phone pranks, and occasionally the food related video? So I try to second guess what my audience want's to see....and I worry about posting the video.

To Vlog or not to Vlog that is the question.

videos that is informally informative usually on new technology (not all the time but most of the time) and which is satisfying to my taste for information's and learning skills.

We like your channel and videos as it's, so keep it running as we love it.

Thanks Ed, I've been struggling with this a lot lately. Every time I edit a new video it seems to follow the same format no matter how I try to steer it in a different direction. It is really a little weird. I was thinking today that I want to pick my three favorite content producers and see what they have in common I'm so taken with. Maybe I can pick one or two things to incorporate into my next few videos. It is just weird how, after shooting hours of footage and hours of editing it comes out really similar to my own personality. Anyway, great topic and what I spent the morning thinking about before watching this! Thanks, Franny
