AI was asked to figure out if there is enough water on the planet to sustain crypto mining, cooling centers and AI. AI said there was not. Fight for your water.

Does this mean we can work less as a society?? Cause we were NOT put on this planet to work for all our lives with such little pay and quality of life.

The fact that the algorithm had this on my autoplay shows how f*ckin worthless that AI is.

What you're saying is invest in companies using AI now, so when it takes your job and the most expensive cost center of these companies is removed, you'll basically monetize the job losses and rise with AI lol. I mean it's going to happen anyway, at least there's a way to benefit from it.

I'll tell you about the reality of AI at this time. 40% of AI output suffers from hallucinations, inaccuracy; that's a lot. So, a software developer should not be just doing projects but including Ai maintenance by contract. That means agencies will do better because they offer those services more cost-effectively. Agencies can freelance employ developers. So it's agency within agency.

This all such crap. The boring jobs they speak of are doing dishes, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning the house. As a creative I don’t find making art boring and unfulfilling. It’s working for someone and house work, all the things that keep me from doing what I want, is unfulfilling. But none of this so crap is solving those problems. It’s only solving corporations and companies from having to pay more for labor and therefore increase the profit margins. It’s all a grift. I don’t see any good coming to the commons, to the bulk of society. It seems to only benefit the wealthy. One ridiculous argument as a pro for this is that everyone can be an entrepreneur. What the hell. No they can’t. And to have millions of entrepreneurs with something to sell, well who’s going to buy. It’s all a crock.

AI can't provide experiences - maybe it's a great time to start recreational/hospitality/adventure (i.e., experiential) related business...I have no idea. What's most concerning is the silence around what's going to happen when millions file unemployment claims and few of them can pivot to a new job because AI has replaced jobs at their skill levels...including white collar jobs. If tech and capitalism created the problem, shouldn't they have to pay for it (e.g., universal basic income, innovative low income housing solutions), or will governments have to shoulder the burden? AI needs to address employment, wage, and other immanent social disasters now, whether its leaders and innovators think they should have to. The only certainty is that AI is going to be responsible - there's no running from that.

I was frightened about AI taking my job until I started using it. After some recent experiences, part of me truly hopes that I get fired because I'm able to do twice as much work in the same or less time than I use to. For the first time, I feel like I might be able to start a business and leave the slavery of horrible bosses, workplace nepotism and culture. I won't be surprised if I'm enslaved by the machines eventually, but until then I'd love to enlist the machines for what feels like a competitive advantage in my field. I've had to dabble in lots of different competencies for work while never reaching competency in any of them. The dabbling is finally paying off; I'm experienced just enough to ask the right questions and fill the knowledge gaps that have held me back. I'm going to enjoy it until AI turns me into a paperclip.

I've used Fiverr for several years to purchase graphic artwork and editing by independent contractors. Now that AI has been unleashed, I can see how both of those areas will be under extreme pressure. So far as I know, Fiverr has no employees, as some of the comments suggest. The people I've dealt with are all Freelancers; that's half a dozen I've contracted with since 2021. I'm happy with their work and would continue to use these people, but I can see where a lot of mediocre talents will get flushed away quickly, and I don't see anything coming along in the free market that will change that.

We need to start rejecting all products from companies that don't hire people! If everything is automated what the eff are we gonna do? How many of us will be needed to make decisions? If full automation is it, We should still be hired & be paid for 40 hrs per week but be allowed to work less hours since AI is taking over our opportunity and still profiting the company.

I'm not buying this AI stuff comingling with jobs and creating new ones. For humans to use AI as a superpower is ridiculous, because the human mind can't multitask very well and keep a very high quality output up. It's just not physically possible. Somethings gotta give regarding quality.

The reality is AI is just gonna make you obsolete in the workforce completely. The superpowers thing is a band aid that will last in the short-term.
