Hummingbirds live at the limits of what is possible. They have the highest metabolism - with a heart rate of 1,200 beats per minute - of any vertebrate. Their wings beat 50 times a second. They can hover on the spot, and even fly backwards. To our eyes, they are just a blur. But with the aid of high-speed cameras we can slow down their hyperactive lives and look into their secret world. And it is amazing 🤩
ОтветитьI have bright copper colored hair and routinely have hummingbirds buzzing up to my head.😂. They will often circle in front of my face and make eye contact with me, only to understand I’m not a plant.
ОтветитьAnyone else hear the c word at the very end? The messenger of c _ _ ts...but if you tell yourself you hear plants, you can hear him saying 'plants', but if you hear him saying the c word, you hear him saying the c word, am I crazy??
ОтветитьYou lost me when you said 60 million years ago 🙄
ОтветитьOne of my favorite authors & I'm just a greatly grateful to have witnessed these magnificent creatures in real time,& best slow mo.
ОтветитьI'd think that some sort of flying technology could be replicated with 3 D printing along with AI and quantum computing, reverse engineer the birds flying process
ОтветитьWatering with a fine mist I had a female Anna's position herself in the mist a couple feet from my face and turn pirouettes. We also have a Costa's that comes each winter. When it is cold and wet he perches, fluffs and frowns, adorable. Only Sir David could make hummingbirds even more adorable.
ОтветитьThe Male Ruby Throated Hummingbird can be a little aggressive with trespassers. My ex and I had a few of them over the years buzz us in an effort to move us out of their part of our backyard. 😎
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьSo now I have to look up in the sky for a robotic bird? 🙄
ОтветитьDid that hummingbird piss at the lady he was trying to woo? Bold move little guy
ОтветитьLearning the details about other life; plants, animals, each species..the waters..is my type of bible. I mean, it’s so incredible. Just God, in every bit of everything- all for us. So beautiful
ОтветитьWhen flower start evolve?...what!!!
ОтветитьMix between a bird and a bee. Nature, you're undecided!
ОтветитьFantasic.
ОтветитьI just wish he'd give proper credit to the Creator of these natural marvels.
ОтветитьWhy do you show other species when describing a bird? The range maps are completely inaccurate as well. This isn't learning. This is just copying a bunch of colorful birds from other people and not knowing anything about the subject matter.
ОтветитьThe World's smallest are found in Cuba, only. They call them Zunzunita, in English, named Bee Hummingbird. They're around 2 1/4 inch in length. Small, little cute things. They sometimes can be mistaken, at least by me, in my opinion, to a bumble bee. That's how small these things are.
Ответитьso how many flaps does a humming bird do throughout their entire life?
ОтветитьNo Red Bull needed for Hummer 😊
Ответить290125 I am highly privileged to have watched this documentary. 💛🧡❤
ОтветитьThe same creator of the flowers also made this special little bird. Intelligent design.
ОтветитьI have truly enjoyed these nature documentaries & narrations since I was very young. Thank you, Mr Attenborough🙏🩵😊
ОтветитьDude get real..aint nothin happened "50 million years ago" 😂😂😂come on bro , please..we all kno the earth is roughly 6-7000 years old..and nothing ever " evolved " either
ОтветитьThis is amazing, thank you. Wondering if the sound of the hummingbirds wingbeats is dubbed on?
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful film documentary 🙌🙏🌷
ОтветитьAttenborough the man who lied about birds feeding their chicks pieces of plastic mistaking it for food - the birds select pebbles and pieces of plastic of the right size and they go into the gizzard to help break up food as birds can't chew - Attenborough knows this but the old git lied about how heartbreaking it was to see them feeding plastic to their chicks mistaking it for food!
ОтветитьMY unbridled admiration for Sir David Attenborough is only exceeded by my adoration of his matchless narrations.
AND HE IS 98 YEARS ETERNAL.
It's 2025 and we still have to hear the word "evollve?" What a joke.
ОтветитьAbsolutely spectacular loved every minute ❤️
ОтветитьDon't they also travel up to 4 to 5 thousand miles a day to feed? I also remember that humming birds recall every flower they pollinated and that's when they consume the nector..😊😅😮😢🎉😂❤
ОтветитьThey are in my northern California yard
ОтветитьThank you - my favourite narrator and favourite bird 👌🙏🙏
ОтветитьAfter a week of fires, filling the Los Angeles area with the heaviness of devastation and loss, this video was a very special light. Thankyou for reminding us all that the “small” joys in life are all we truly need.
ОтветитьHummingbirds give my dad a hard time lol. They demand water. They wont leave him alone. So my dad gives them water. sprays them too. They are friends
ОтветитьWe have lived for 50 yrs on vancouver island. When we arrived the hummers all left and flew south but now ine particular green species stays through our mild winters and even snow occasionally. Men die living rough on the street and yet the teeny bird slows his system down during the night and back to the thawed feeders every morning and survive. We have pix of them in the snow. Amazing birds
ОтветитьIsn’t our GOD AWESOME?
ОтветитьI had the opportunity to watch the smalest hummingbird, it was big like a bumbulbee, black and with color. Unforgetable moment.
ОтветитьOne important difference on the robot, it doesn’t move it’s tail!!
ОтветитьThank you!
Ответить"Let me show you the dance of our people!"
ОтветитьI love how he’s so open-minded about the evolution of humanity and animal kind together
ОтветитьHere's to the heros in Rockport, Tx who give these little guys an extra boost before they head across the Gulf of Mexico!
Ответить🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🏆Absolutely STELLAR; thank you! 🐤💛
ОтветитьWas gardening one fine summer day by my day lillies. One lil hummer beauty flew right next 2 my face. I didn't dare turn my head so only moved my eyes was an amazing moment in time(:
