That one damn fight at Helms Deep. If youve played, you know the one I'm talking about. That took me 10+ tries as a kid lmao. Love this gane.

I loved this game as a kid. Moria and Rohan really stood out as the best chunk of the game in terms of difficulty and memorable moments.

Yeah the ending was a bit ridiculous but overall I really liked the story that the party were thrown into.

I have replayed it twice in the last 10 years and it’s still a really enjoyable experience considering the age of the game.

ohh man this is one of my fave rpg games. in my top 10. i found it hard at one point took ages to get past. it was at the castle when you first start having 4 people. but i got past it after a while. miss old games

I have so many memories of this game. I've played it through dozens of times and even unlocked all skills on characters. My dad, me and my brother all played this one.

Played it on PS2 when it came out thanks for reminding me how damn good it is.

I actually quite enjoyed this game. It's better than it has any right to be. All the characters were unique and fun to use. It had a great self-contained story. Honestly, the worst part about this game was the grinding required to fully level up the characters.

"the most exciting rpg since final fantasy" yeah.. for me this is one that had the same feel to it as final fantasy and I loved it for that. this is one hell of an underrated game. them doing this how they did it - just one step behind frodo and co. - made it feel like you were playing an entirely different game set in the LoTR universe.

I remember being a little kid riding my bike to the family video to rent the LOTR games and picking up this one and getting absolutely no where… I never realized how in depth this game actually was.

This was the game i encouraged all my friends to try out and now its a group classic that we talk about regularly

This game is actually very fun once you get over the silly story set up. Regardless I do enjoy this a lot and the graphics actually hold up really well for the age

I remember getting this on holiday in America back on 2006 and finally coming home to the UK and the family PC not being able to run it. It's weird seeing gameplay all these years later

Bought it today. The animation during battle looks awesome. After 1-2 hours already getting new abilities. Bought a gamecube primarily for this and thousand year door.

Amazing game, tons of hours you can spend, evil mode is solid and fun, game overall is actually tough all things considered. Shame that we won’t see a remaster or remake.

I managed to get all the way to the boss fight with Gothnog at Osgiliath before I realized I needed to use my skill points to upgrade. Couldn’t beat him until I figured that out. Had some really tough fights with the uruks in Rohan because of that lol

Hah i just got an emulator yesterday so i could play this classic again. I got it all working and its still such a banger, i had so much fun yesterday!

The co-op mode was pretty fun. Once you get the full roster of PC’s each player controls the actions of certain characters. Player 1 controls characters A-D and player 2 controls characters E-I

LotR the Third Age was a sick game. The ending was really rushed and honestly not very good, going straight from pelenor fields the top of Bara dur, but evil mode was a sweet bandaid to assuage me and the whole game just felt really good to play

Final Fantasy X had this same style of turn based. Fell asleep many times mid battle playing late at night and everything would still be as it was. Now when the direct sequel X-2 came out, they brought in ATB and you could die during your turn. Anyway, this game was one of my favorites years ago on the original x-box system. It was really difficult sometimes, damn uruk kai or whatever they were were so op. Especially hated running out of mana all the time and for some reason the mana regen items were so hard to find. LOVED when a film character joined the party, also, Idrial was not like Legolas (there was a bow using ranger that joined you), Idrial was more like Arwen in the first film.

as a fan of rpg games and someone who hates lord of the rings, star wars and all that...i found this game a year after its release and was so surprised about how cool that game was at the time.

OOOOOOH and the ability to play as the enemies in a fun mode was so fuckin cool! (that made me a bit interested in the lore of these enemies tbh xd)

Turn based combat is goated. Skill points abilities spells attributes etc it's so satisfying to start at zero and shape you're character
