I've talked with S-Purple and he confirmed, again, the Cataphract is indeed a female character. :-)

Pinned down is amazing vs the shrieker. It lowers his obnoxiously high dodge skill and makes it easier to kill him before he floes away

For this character I just have pin down, one of the healing abilities and the two attacks that switch her from backline to frontline depending on the situation.

Personally I don't think YOU voluntarily retelling a war story would Stress YOURSELF up.

Out of all class mods available as of April 2020, this one is probably my favourite because it blends in the vanilla DD vision so perfectly. Thematically, artistically, and gameplay wise. It's also not designed selfishly, trying to obnoxiously "stand out" from the others. Instead, it's filling an excellent niche spot which is position 1 AOE heals. And just like vanilla classes it can be played in a few different ways, it's also an excellent Arbalest replacement from Position 4, which can rush the frontline for heals. Visually, it's also very unique and beautiful without overshadowing the other characters of your team. 10/10 should be an official dlc that I would buy and recommend.

I personally like to run her with an arbalest and a bounty hunter. Basically you have the arbalest buffing people with +% heal received and the cataphract healing, while the bounty hunter serves to mark enemies and do damage to marked enemies as well, so the arbalest and bounty hunter complement each other very well

is it not viable to take the group heal and then some damage stuff? like the one that takes you to the front and the one that sends you to the back, 1` heal and then something else. I dunno what. will have to play around with it.

wow, this dude had 4 top modders working on her? must be a total boss of a character. got two in my roster, will check out tonight.

so far I have been using the hollow, tusk, butcher bird, thrall, exorcist and lamia mostly. I found a team of antiquarian, hollow, tusk and exorcist is pretty cool. still need to iron out some kinks and I doubt antiquarian was optimal. I just like having one in my party for making money.

thanks for making all these videos BTW. I only recently got back into DD and discovered the mods, and your videos helped in that regard as it's where I first seen the modded classes in action.

so at a glance this gal seems like a better crusader. I mean I prefer dex style characters in RPG's (Jester, Shield Breaker etc) so this guy automatically gels with me.

I shouldn't rag on the crusader though, he's really good in the ruins. ha ha.

also she is the counter part to the deus vult. ha ha. she is like a Saracen or something, right? (they should have it so she and the crusader can't be in a team together because religion is stupid.. yaaay)

Interesting class. For a moment I forgot about Wheeling Disengage being your main way to get out of rank 1, which made me ponder the implications as far as starting position goes (as with WD you'd be stuck in rank 1 unless something else pushes you back).

If you insisted that catapharact is female so I will refer 'her' to this class.
I think her gear is unflexible. Her spear thrust didn't have armor piercing like shieldbreaker. Both of her healing abilities unlike vestral can used in only rank 1 which is a position of frontline shuffler dps like highwayman and shieldbreaker are belong. That's mean she will be useless when she shuffle back to rank 2. Her onslaught is powerful but can only attack enemy back liner witch she will also be useless when we have only 1 tough enemy left and you didin't have any fronline dps in your team. Her backline attack that can attack at enemy rank 1 is volly which is quite weak for target 1 enemy. Overall catapharact is a cool balance class that have potencial to be both backline dps heavy cavalry or frontline healer. But the limit of position of her gears making her weaker than she look. My suggest for the modder is to make onslaught attack rank 1 enemy so that she can use onslaught/trot retreat combo like highwayman's duelist/pointblank combo and make her heal abilities can use at rank 2 or 3 like reverse vestral will make catapharact more flexible option.

The fact that the Cataphract's playstyle involves cycle charging screams to the medieval buff inside of me.

oh man, im playing DD again and i didnt know when my beloved haunted cubes were nerfed :( now all my ghost riders should use old and boring junia's head

The Cataphract and Ronin are my two favorite modded classes, they're both reasonably straightforward and fun to play.

Do you plan on covering S-Purple's new class? The Slayer, if you're asking.

I remember in one of my playthrough having a Cataphract with Hot to Trot. Opening the fight with Onslaught was devastating and I loved her to the point I regret having lost that save file.

HOLLY SHIT i actually love this one... some of the others youve covered kinda dont completely fit the DDU but this one is awesome

I suggest you to look in the commissair mod, i think it' s a fun hero to play in darkest dungeon, and it can sinergize with a lot of other heroes from other mods

Great video on the Cataphract EF that hero works well with my hero set that is constantly moving around the board like for example abyss walker, dragonslayer, and ronin. when those 4 work together they hit like a train with spikes coming out in the front of it coated with lemon juice.

These animations are outstanding! :) Love how it's been put together and remains a valid reason to add this one class to my roosters.

I have no idea where did you get the info that Cataphract is a woman, because S-Purple himself uses masculine pronouns for him. Plus we have an origin comic where we see him as a young lad.

Is Cataphract better than Crusader?

Quick question: So I am already in week 30+ of a new estate with Seo's mods. If I were to add this, would it be in line with the current class mods I am using as far as power is concerned. From the video it seemed to be a balanced class. Also, can you add class mods after being into a new estate without bad things happening? Thanks

I have to recommend his CoM trinket though. (if you have the dlc) and plan of using him as a combat ranged char. will totally transform him into an excelent off-healer with each kill. healing whole party.
